My husband and I came here last night to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! Toby was our server. He was the best. The food was amazing. I will definitely come back and recommend for everyone to try this place out.

There are many different things that could improve. This is my 4th or 5th visit to this restaurant and it was a nice place to visit until yesterday.- Food: The taste has changed, I remember the first time I came to this restaurant and I was fascinated because it had all I love in a restaurant and the taste of food was 10/10. Yesterday food was less than ok. We were a party of 7, it was a special occasion (we were celebrating a birthday) and the food was not on point. Also, when my girlfriend asked for a soda at the end of the night it tasted like sparkling water, apparently there was no syrup, this makes me think they don’t even try first what they serve, when the waitress brought the soda for the 2nd time it had a horrible flavour, which confirmed my thoughts.- Service: Every time I went to this restaurant before service was great, but not this time. I wanted to ask different things during the dinner and I was trying to ask servers and even though there were many servers around they all seem distracted, nobody was paying attention to tables, you expect that customers look around once in a while to see if there is someone available to help, and nobody was available. On top of that I called some of the servers that passed by and nobody seemed to listen to me. The waitress who was taking care of us that night was Dawna, who did some things great since the start but failed to deliver things in time and check details in our order as others waiters did before with me in the past (maybe waiters don’t follow the same procedures to take care of customers). I forgot to mention that nobody was asked for any dietary restrictions. Also there was no follow up on things that were delivered to the table with the classic question: is everything good with your order?Girlfriend asked for a drink and waitress forgot to order it, we had to remind her after everyone else has their drinks. Girlfriend order a soda at the end and Dawna brought the wrong soda at the beginning (we asked for sprite and she brought coke), when soda was changed the “sprite” tasted like sparkling water, then when it was changed again it tasted bad. At this point I wanted to leave no tip (I think one person of the table did not leave a tip) because tips are earned, they are the reflection of the quality of service a customer gets and service was really bad this night.Note for the waitress, I think you should take notes in paper when taking orders so mistakes don’t happen like forgetting things.As someone who is in the hospitality industry for more than 8 years, this experience really disappointed me especially because it was my girlfriend’s birthday. All the other times I came here service was really great and food was good.

Absolutely fastastic meal! Had the clam chowder and prawns with scallops. Server Pete was super friendly, very knowledge about the menu and the surrounding locale! I will definitely be back.

Our server, a woman in her 50s or so, was great. Food was ok but not great. Dry toasted bread with the platter, quite raw prawns, just ok meatballs and ribs. We've been to Cardero's around 5 times now, and the food is mediocre. The fries were abundant but just ok also. My husband enjoyed his oysters. My single margarita was $19.50 which I felt was a bit much, considering the small size - but it was tasty. Live music (Geoff Gibbons) was enjoyable and livened up the dark wood surroundings.The thing that ruined our evening, my daughter's birthday, was one of the staff staring at her with his eyes bugged out and mouth literally hanging open as we walked by to use the ladies room. He was making it very obvious that he was ogling her up and down and back up, not looking away even when I stared at him. I put my arm around my 20 year old daughter and shook my finger at him then he looked at me with contempt and a sneer. It was extremely awkward and annoying. We were just trying to enjoy some time together as a family.

The restaurant is located right next to the Westin Marriott. Very convenient walking distance. The food is very good. The Grass fed beef hamburger was excellent, as was the baked chicken. Definitely would return.

We’ve been to this establishment before and loved it. This time, we ordered two salmon dinners which were served barely warm. The beans that came on the dish were undercooked (fairly hard). The waiter had them remade, but the beans tasted the same as the previous ones (I compared both). The under cooked vegetables issue wasn’t resolved which was unfortunate. I’d have a tough time recommending this restaurant given the prices and quality we experienced this time. Unfortunately, great location and atmosphere isn’t enough on its own.

David Gable

During my business trip in Vancouver I attended a dinner at carderos with a group. The patio was the perfect ambiance. We were served by the charming Pete. He was attentive, intelligent, entertaining and very kind. His extensive knowledge about the menu and his friendly demeanor made our dining experience enjoyable and memorable. We were provided with a group specific menu but Pete let us order a few extra dishes a la carte. Ask him about the fried oysters, he will tell you the truth! By the end of our meal, we unanimously declared Pete as the top waiter we encountered in Vancouver. Danke Carderos and Pete!

Drink is so watery because it was full of iceWe ordered something new that was a roasted potato with rosemary . I didn’t like it. I gave them comments but they didn’t care. Its not something that I prefer to comeback again
