As restaurants were very busy on a Saturday evening in the streets of Vancouver, my partner and I were scurrying to find a place to dine at. We wandered along the strip of Denman Street and stumbled across a hole in the wall gem. This is Dan Dan Noodle. Dan Dan Noodle stands out as a culinary gem, offering an unparalleled taste of authentic Chinese cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance transports you to the bustling streets of Chengdu, with its vibrant decor and welcoming atmosphere. The star of the show, the Dan Dan noodles, are an absolute delight. Each bite is an explosion of flavor, perfectly balancing the rich, nutty sesame paste with the spicy kick of Sichuan peppercorns and fresh vegetables. The noodles themselves are cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chewiness. The food was so good we ordered TWO more noodle dishes. The Sichuan Cold Noodles (Liang Mian) and the Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup. Not only that, but we had a side of Spicy Wontons with Chili Sauce and Soju Bombs! We noticed how perfectly seasoned the dishes were right away. Usually when you order a large amount of food, you'd feel full and tired, but these dishes were not too heavy or oily, leaving us satisfied and full of energy! From the fiery heat of the spices to the comforting warmth of the soup, every dish is a testament to the chef's dedication to authenticity and quality. Prepared to perfection. We even had room for dessert afterwards! What truly sets Dan Dan Noodle apart, however, is the impeccable service. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and satisfied. Whether you're a seasoned spice lover or a newcomer to Sichuan cuisine, they are more than happy to guide you through the menu and offer recommendations. The staff were extremely friendly and wonderful! Dan Dan Noodle is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic taste of Sichuan in Vancouver. With its delicious food, inviting ambiance, and top-notch service, I will 1000% be back next time I'm in Vancouver.

Food was delicious and service was good. However, the Dan Dan noodle portion is small and for the price it only included noodle and a little bit of minced pork.

I came here on a late evening and it was close to closing time. After getting off the ferry at Horseshoe Bay, I was looking for a bit of comfort food to feed the soul. I have always wanted to go to China to try the real deal so Dan Dan noodle joints comes to mind. The waitress was soft spoken and prompt. She gave me a few suggestions and I went with Dan Dan noodles and Hot and sour wontons soup. I used to be a spice/heat buff but I prefer to taste my food nowadays. I ordered “mild” spice level but the waitress informed me that means there is 0% heat in the dish. I hesitated but went with “spicy” based on her guidance. The food came as pictured in the menu. Everything tasted homemade and fresh. The waitress was right about the spice levels. The “spicy” wasn’t spicy at all. It had floral notes to its spice level which would make sense since this dish is traditionally made with pepper corn. The overall flavor was seasoned perfectly. A healthy dose of peppercorn would make it that much more memorableParking: The COV app now charges a $0.15 fee to pay by the app

I forgot to take a picture of it but I'll be ordering again to update. Perfectly spiced Mapo Tofu, and the spicy chicken wasn't overly spicy at all and very delicious! I went there years ago but I can honestly say they've definitely improved and now I know where to go to get my spicy food craving. Gotta love Szechuan pepper ?

This restaurant is very delicious, real Sichuan flavor in dt, without a lot of advertising and publicity, you can't see the advertisement of this restaurant from some Chinese apps, but their taste is among the top five Sichuan dishes in the whole Vancouver, including Richmond Including, the top five is also absolute. I'm very happy to have discovered this restaurant. I usually use the takeout app to order food. I will go to the store to eat next time I have the opportunity. When I ate the saliva chicken in this restaurant for the first time, I was shocked. It was completely a Chengdu street salad dish. The flavor of the store, they even use the complex brown sugar soy sauce found in real Chengdu cold dishes, is excellent and definitely worth a return visit. The main dishes were also great, this restaurant deserves more praise

The food had an undefinable fatty taste. I will left the place 70$ less and still hungry. The aftertaste stayed on for four hours, and would not even go away with toothbrushing. Certainly one of the worst dining experiences ever.

The food that made us both unhappy for the next 4 or so hours. The aftertaste of something that looked like spaghettini in an extremely greasy soup with just plain boiled feef ground in it is impossible to get rid off. Extra spicy doesn't feel spicy at all but brings a a very weird tingling sensation to the tongue that, for a second, gave me a creepy feeling that I just had some toxic chemicals in my mouth. All of our dishes looked hearty just swimming in Mala but tasted totally flat. Probably the worst meal we both had in a long time.

I visited Vancouver and was looking for quick Chinese food. Ordered the dan dan noodle, beef noodle soup, and a tofu dish. All were great, but the dan dan noodle was the most memorable. Authentic with the right amount of spice and numbness around the lips. I came back the next day to get it again. Good prices, local beer on tap, and fast service. Would come back whenever I'm back in Vancouver.
