I decided to give this place a try despite some of the negative Google reviews I saw. My husband is Vietnamese and we were really hoping for a good Pho restaurant in our neighborhood. The dishes we tried were:House Special Chicken Salad - Actually pretty good, and didn't feel overly expensive like the other dishes we had. There was a nice balance of flavours between the chicken and the veggies.Special Pho - Nothing really noteworthy other than the soup needed a bit more flavour. If you're going to charge $20 for noodles and some meat, I was hoping for something special, but It was just a basic bowl of pho, and possibly the most expensive bowl of pho that I've ever had in my life.Special Vermicelli - The portion was quite large, so I'll give them that. The meats were flavourful but all needed a bit more time on the grill.I went in expecting to be disappointed, but my experience wasn't terrible. Overall, the food was okay, but certainly nothing special and the high prices are not justifiable in my opinion. If I want Vietnamese food, I'd rather go up the street to any Vietnamese restaurant on Victoria or Kingsway, and I can get better food for a fraction of the price that District Noodle House is charging. I understand that rent is probably really expensive in River District, but the high prices are deterring me from returning even though I live in the area.

I'm updating my review. As others have mentioned, the high prices are really upsetting. I wish they would fix their menu but the owners seem tone deaf. A small size bowl option and 15-20% lower prices would be my suggestion. $8 for 1x salad roll... let that sink in. I'm glad there are more options in the area now with prices that actually make sense for what they are. If I really want pho I have been driving 10 mins away for a sensible bowl.

I love vietnamese food. But I'm priced out of this resto. It's a bit much for what I feel comfortable paying for. It's unjustifiable, IMO. It's really too bad because I wanted to love District Noodle House so much. They have decent serving sizes. It seems like that's the justification for the price. Although, to be honest, I don't care too much about jumbo portions. I just want a meal that's affordable and one that doesn't make me feel guilty. One suggestion to owners: if you're keen on keeping the current prices, would you consider having a lunch/dinner special menu that's less expensive?Right now, it's unlikely I'll come back here. There's too many other options in the neighborhood where I can get a good meal.

My kids and I love this place. The garlic shrimp noodles are one of the best that I have had and I also love the salad rolls, really fresh and unique taste! Great place to go on a Friday night.

Got takeout. Food was fine, nothing spectacular, just what you would expect from a local neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant. But like a lot of people are saying, it’s overpriced. My dish including tip ended up costing $27. Not worth it as there was nothing special to rave about.

I was so excited to see a Vietnamese restaurant open up in River District, but I have to echo what other people are saying about prices. $18 for a bowl of pho ($22 after tax and tip) is steep. The size of it was large for sure but it wasn't anything you couldn't finish. The pho and the service was good, nothing to write home about.Vegetarian options: They had vegan options available.Parking: There is a parking lot/underground parking available where Save On Foods is.

First time trying this place since it opened! For someone who doesn’t usually like pho and can be quite picky about it, everything from here was delicious! Portion size was quite large for both dishes my partner and I got, so that made it worth the prices being a bit more expensive than we have seen at other places we have gone to in the surrounding area! However, for good, quality, healthy food, we will definitely be back!

my first time in the river district and decided to drop by District Noodle House. I had the chicken salad which was very refreshing. also had the soup and spring roll, not sure what the complaint about price and taste is about. Seems fairly decent and it was better than most places. Would definitely come

Picked up the "Vegan Vermicelli Noodles with Five Spice Glaze Tofu & Veggie Spring Roll" for dinner to take home. The container for the food was huge, I didn't think I would get through it all but I ended up licking the dish at the end. Absolutely phenomenal Vietnamese food! The best I've ever had! Will be visiting with family again in the future

Wife saw that this establishment was open last time we were in the area and decided to give it a try. Once we entered and established that we were a party of two we were promptly seated. We were asked if we wanted water or tea and we opted for tea. The place is newer and very clean, decor simple but elegant and doesn't feel out of place for the area. After perusing the menu I decided to get their spicy lemongrass beef noodle soup, wife went with the pho chicken and chicken balls, we also ordered a pork spring rolls, and shrimp salad roll. The salad roll came first. The presentation as you cab see is quite nice. Taste wise very refreshing with the peanut sauce which was thick enough to stick heartily to the roll when dipped. The spring rolls came next and although I usually do not prefer the kind of wrapper used the filling and presentation removed any bias I had. These were delicious! Crispy outside and the inside super soft and tender. Dipping is a bit tough and is recommend you use the pointy end of the bowl and pour over your intended bite to eat. Our pho bowls arrived after and my spicy lemongrass beef noodle soup was delicious, though reading the name of this dish now I actually didn't find it spicy. However there was a beautiful taste of lemongrass and it was packed full of goodies to eat. It had vietnamese ham, beef slices, 3x house made pork/ shrimp meatballs which were extremely flavourful. Noodle portion I think could have been slightly more but overall a very decent portion. Wife's chicken pho and chicken balls also had a decent amount of chicken pieces and balls. The flavor I found was light on the chicken flavor(though it was there just lightly) and heavier on the other ingredients used. Overall the bowl had a lighter flavor profile but was decent in its own way. The pricing here I do agree is a bit on the pricier side but the freshness of the ingredients and quality and care put into their dishes is great. It's up to you if the price point is worth it to you or not. I wouldn't go across town just to visit but I definitely would come if I was nearby and wanted a tasty bite to eat!

I visited District Noodles, and it was an average experience. The pho lacked the robust flavor I expected, and the prices were on the higher side compared to similar places. I haven't felt compelled to return since.
