Celebrated a birthday here and really enjoyed the evening. It was our first time dining at the restaurant and the tasting menu is a great format - each person picks their preferred dishes and portions are small so it feels like having an endless choice of tapas. Food was delicious and most folks could only order 2 platters and were stuffed. Service was wonderful right from the start with a small cup of chai offered upon entering. We were a large group (7 of us), and everything went smoothly. Enjoyed the live piano music too. Highly recommend!

East is East has literally the best chai I’ve ever tasted :))) I’ve been going here almost daily for 10+ years. Lana and Mira are the best managers and I love seeing their faces when I go visit. I’m moving away and I’ll miss them and this place so much!!
What a wonderful experience. The best chai ever! We had the sampler and I think it's the best way to experience all the dishes. A must have. Our server was wonderful and knowlegeable, thank you!

The atmosphere is really nice. The night I went to there were five people celebrating their birthdays together. I would say price is not that cheap - $40 per person minimum. Overall it’s a nice experience.

The $42 tasting menu was awesome! Variety to your heart's content and loved that I could order bottomless mains, salad, soup, naan, quesadilla(?) w potato in it. I was able to try so many dishes this way! Everything was yummy including the baba ganiush but the lamb curry was by far the best I've EVER had! Persian salad was so delicious and fresh I ordered it 3 times! Cozy and warm atmosphere, there was live music (it was a Friday) and the tapestries, wood and pink salt decor was unique and made for a relaxing space to socialize. Service was also so genuinely friendly and attentive too! Amazing experience all around, good work in running a good operation here! Will definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

I've been here a handful of times and the food is consistently solid. If you're super hungry, go for the AYCE Feast option. I love that they offer you a soy chai sampler before you're seated, whether it is lunch or dinner. My latest visit we had called ahead to book one of the patio tables so my dog could chill while we ate, and then we all went for a neighborhood stroll after dinner.Vegetarian options: Love their mystic mushroom soup, and the Dahl soup. Can't decide which is my favorite of the two.

We had the Silk Road menu. The items tasted great and were delicately spiced. The chai was also excellent. I would have given it 5 stars were it not for the gulab jamin which was dry, bready and short on rosewater.
Good vibes but wraps mostly rice :/ quite expensive for what you get!!

I had an absolutely wonderful time at East is East! Their Feast is the way to go. You get to try all these different dishes they have and all of them are deliciously flavourful. I loved their mystic soup, salmon and creamy mushroom and eggplant. The dumpling is something I've never had before and it's outstanding.They have some Persian and Indian dishes to try as well as Afghani. I loved them all.The staff was friendly, attentive and professional. They had a violinist performing that evening and he was too good.It's a whole experience and the best one✨❤️I would surely be coming back with all my friends.

Outstanding! An unforgettable experience. The food is amazing — flavourful and distinctive. The tapas-style approach of having lots of small dishes allows tasting a wide variety of styles. The live music was very good, too. The flamenco dancers were particularly memorable. This is my second visit, and I can't wait to go back. If you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary, perhaps for a special celebration, I can't recommend this highly enough.Vegetarian options: Lots of good choices. About 50% of the menu items are vegan.Dietary restrictions: There are lots of excellent GF and DF options. About 75% of the menu items are naturally GF/DF. The GF boulani is particularly good.

My recent visit to East in East Restaurant left much to be desired, primarily due to the uncomfortable behavior of the servers.Throughout the meal, the servers incessantly interrupted our conversations, showing a complete disregard for customer comfort. It felt like they were hovering around, waiting to pounce on us at any moment.To make matters worse, one of the servers even rolled their eyes at us when we politely asked for a recommendation. This unprofessional and disrespectful attitude is completely unacceptable in any establishment.Overall, the service at East in East Restaurant was a major disappointment. I would caution others against dining here if they value a pleasant and respectful dining experience.
