Recently visited @faubourgbakery for the first time and was very underwhelmed. This bustling cafe downtown has been a spot that I've been wanting to try for a while now. They always seemed to be super busy so I had pretty high expectations. Which is why it almost saddens me to report that everything I tried was...lacklustre. First off, I feel like the ordering process was poorly designed (downtown location). You walk past the pick-up counter and the display case to order at the cashier. After you place your order, you're asked to return to the pick-up area by the door to wait for your food and drinks. I can see this becoming an issue during a rush because everyone will be crowding by the door and customers waiting to order will be cut off or confused. The line-up area has the display case on the left, and a wall on the right; you're literally funnelled into a makeshift lane towards the cashier, and then spit backwards to get your order. It would be much more efficient if it was a one-way process ie. walk past display case, order at cashier, wait at an area on the same side (think Thierry). The cutlery return area was also right next to the pick-up counter which caused further foot traffic jams. Placing the macarons beside the pick-up counter didn't help either. You select the flavours in the pick-up area; which, again, means you will most likely be awkwardly blocking someone's way as you're pointing to which brightly coloured calorie bomb you'd like to take home. It wasn't even that busy when we dropped by and we still found ourselves having to do awkward maneuvers in the tight pick-up area. New customers were trying to get past us to line up, and people who ordered ahead of us were trying to grab their drinks and food. One wrong move and you might end up with someone's hot drink spilt all over. They really need to reconfigure this layout to make it more efficient. Macarons 6/10 Not spectacular Black Sesame Cruffin 3/10 No black sesame flavour Hot Choco 2/10 According to the 9 year old who drank it 3.5/10 ‍2/10 $$$ (a box of macarons, two drinks, and pastry was almost $50) Faubourg | 769 Hornby St, Vancouver

Staff were approachable and helpful. They patiently answered when I had some questions about their coffee and pastries. The noise level is a bit on the loud side, if thats something you mind. I appareciate that there's ample indoor and outdoor seating options. I enjoyed my pain au chocolat and nutella crepe, with caramel macchiato. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant. The staff offered to warm it up, and I learned that next time, I should really eat it as soon as it is out the oven (or microwave), as it got hard a few minutes after me taking photos if it for the gram

This place was completely average. I got the mango pineapple smoothie, which was good and fresh. The pain au chocolate and the croissant were a bit stale and disappointing. I don't think I would go back because of that.

Faubourg, across from the art gallery, is a slice of Parisian heaven right in Vancouver. The ambiance instantly transports me to the charming streets of Paris. But it's not just the atmosphere that's remarkable - the food quality is top-notch, and the coffee, oh là là, surpasses Artigiano by a mile! That croissant along with that rich espresso, made that moment at Faubourg a delightful escape. It's becoming my go-to spot to enjoy a part of my day with friends,

Great concept. However, the delivery is lacking. It could be the limited staffing but who knows. The high point was a nice little outdoor covered patio, which is great for the warmer days.

I had the nutella crepe and it was not good, my friend had the brie prosciutto sandwich and he said it was just okay, not great.

I like this coffee shop. It is cozy and emulates French vibes. I had brunch in the summer with a friend once and have frequently visited the davie location. Today, I really needed a pick-me-up, so I ordered their tiramisu mocha. It was delightful. There was a line-up, but I definitely got my coffee shortly after my order, and I didn't have to wait long. This place is great for both dining out and getting takeaway. There are a lot of great dessert options and a nice brunch menu. Weekends are busy so the earlier, the better!

Nice lunch spot! I had a lavender latte and a mozzarella/tomato/pesto sandwich on a baguette. It all tasted very fresh. For those two things, I spent about $25, so it's one of the more expensive spots downtown. If you're looking for a spot to settle down after visiting the art gallery, or some good coffee as a pick-me-up, I recommend checking this place out. I asked about their accommodations for my peanut allergy, and the staff were kind and helpful. They were able to point out which things would be suitable for me to eat, and took care and concern that I had a serious allergy. I would recommend asking the staff for more information about the menu if you have any allergies!

Pastries about as good as Purebread (meh), just a smidge better than Breka (fine when it is 2am). Pastries tasted like their fat came from canola oil rather than butter. My apple thingymabob had flavourless undercooked apples in a slightly oiled possibly Tenderflake pastry shell.Americano was somehow weak and flavourless. Great decor, but much better can be had even from Artigianno next door or wayyyy better at Thierry on Thurlow. Pass on this one.Bizarre that this place has such a high rating.

The selection here is really extensive for a coffee shop: sandwiches and crepes all made to order, soups, various sweet and savoury baked goods, plus coffee and tea and more drinks. Nondairy milks are available but it looks like none of the food is vegan. There are plenty of vegetarian choices though. Very hard to make a choice since everything looked delightful.I had a tomato and bocconcini sandwich, a hazelnut mousse dacquoise w/ pear compote (the pastry of the month), and a lavender Italian soda. Was going to order a crepe but the barista told me it would be 15-20 minutes when I was hoping for a quicker lunch, but maybe next time. I really liked my sandwich, anyway. I had it on the multiseed bread which was hearty and fresh. I loved biting into the balls of fresh bocconini too. Sometimes sandwiches with pesto come out too oily for me, but that was not the case here. The pastry was also fantastic! I loved the contrasting textures and richness of the hazelnut cream, and the tart, juicy chunks of pear inside were a nice little surprise when I had been expecting something more jelly-like. The soda was good too. It was hard to mix the lavender syrup in, but once it got mixed it was very floral, and they didn't use too much syrup to make the drink too sweet. They have the clean, elegant Parisian aesthetic down inside, but I most enjoy sitting on the patio which is covered and elevated away from the sidewalk level, so you can relax away from the weather and crowds. Very welcoming and thorough service from the staff member in training who took my order. Drinks are called out from the bar, but food is brought to your table when you eat in. FYI they have mugs for coffee and plates and silverware, but my cold drink came in a plastic cup. Not sure if it was just a mistake or if they just don’t make the cold drinks in glasses, but I will watch out for that next time.

Pierre checked the books to confirm what the ingredients were in my snack?

Been here twice visiting Vancouver and it’s been great both times. But the last time is worthy of a five star review. Not only was everything delicious and everyone courteous, they forgot our fruit cup to go. However they chased us down the street and gave us the missing cup. I just wanted to thank them again for the superb service!
