Restaurant had great service with an amazing and friendly manager; the food was a little lacking though for its price as the lobster tails were extremely chewy.

It’s truly an exquisite dining experience. The view, service and food/drink presentation were very good. Everything tasted as well as they looked. The only disappointment was the Wagyu steak dish. After paying $30/oz ($155 for the single dish) we couldn’t believe that we were actually chewing on animal fat instead of meat. Soufflé and the cocktails were just right.

I love high tea and I visited for their limited edition cherry blossom high tea and it certainly did not disappoint. I saw this from a Vancouver foodie Instagram account and was able to book a table the next day (easter Sunday). Wasn't busy and the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. I got the organic lychee green tea and my mom got the cherry blossom tea. I loved the little French press pots! The brioche and raspberry scones came first and they were wonderful. It also came with chantilly cream, raspberry jam and sea truffle butter. The brioche was soft and fluffy and paired well with the accompaniments. The scone was soft, not dense and chewy. The savory aspects were delicious and my favorite was the smoked salmon onigiri! Loved the crunch of the cucumber and the crab and the salmon/shrimp custard was also really good. The sweets were yummy. The Frasier cake was good and enjoyable with the strawberry. I loved the fruity flavors or the lemon and lychee cake and the hibiscus gel. The matcha flavor was perfect for the cream puff with the strawberry compote. The almond tart was good and not too sweet with the raspberries which is what I like.Service was spectacular, our server, I think his name was Shawn was very nice and friendly and we were greeted with warm hospitality from all the staff. The atmosphere was of course amazing as the view is the water and the mountains. It was a beautiful day as well. Not loud as it wasn't busy, the seating was comfortable. Lovely scenery and decor: the spring blossoms were fitting. The ambience of the restaurant itself felt warm and welcoming. Can't wait for the next high tea! :)

Dining here was a happy accident. A quick spring break trip to Vancouver for the car show and shopping with our 2 kids and we were trying to figure out timing between dinner and a swim in the pool. Hotel restaurants come in handy for this purpose, but our meal and experience well exceeded our expectation. From the outset, the hostess was friendly and sat us immediately. The service staff professional and accommodating- we noted the high number of staff per guest. Drinks were quickly dispatched with fun options for our 11 and 13 year olds. My wife and son enjoyed a perfectly prepared chateaubriand, served tableside by the maître d' who recognized us from our hometown private club he previously worked at. Daughter loved her first caviar experience on beef tartare and my lobster/prawns were tasty. The apple dessert is quite the experience. In summary, what was to be a quick bite ended up being a very special and memorable evening which will be talked about for years. As a frequent visitor to Vancouver for work, I'd never considered Five Sails given the number of other excellent restaurants near the harbour. However I will return.

Five Sails restaurant provided an exquisite experience during our cherry blossom high tea visit with our 11-month-old. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful afternoon. The ambiance was charming, with cherry blossom decor enhancing the atmosphere. Our little one was not only welcomed but also accommodated with care, making us feel at ease throughout our visit. The service at Five Sails was nothing short of impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was exceptional. They were also incredibly thoughtful, providing extra attention to our baby's needs without us having to ask. Now, let's talk about the food! The cherry blossom high tea was a culinary delight. Each bite was a burst of flavor, showcasing the chef's skill and creativity. From the savory sandwiches to the delicate pastries and refreshing teas, every item was a treat for the senses. What truly sets Five Sails apart is their attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction. Despite having a young child with us, we never felt overlooked or rushed. Instead, we were treated like valued guests, making our visit truly memorable.Overall, our experience at Five Sails was nothing short of amazing. It's not just a restaurant; it's a destination for exceptional food, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Sincerely I do not pretend to demerit gourmet cuisine, all the food was fresh and good served just it does not have any distinguish taste. The waitress was awesome and the environment so comfortable. I love the landscapes you can observe inside the restaurant. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

Celebrated an early 40th birthday with high tea this Sunday afternoon. Had a marvellous experience! Food was fabulous, staff were attentive and the view made us feel like we were on top of the world. Will most certainly return for another occasion as I am excited to experience some of their more savoury dishes. Five stars for five sails.

I feel like they are biting more than they can chew. To start, there is an option to upload your photos on the reservation so they know what you look like and greet you by name. Would be pretty cool for a date so upload I did. When I got there, they didn’t greet me or my partner so that was a miss. The menus presented were recycled and had creases all over. The bottom part didn’t even print correctly! They need to pay attention to details. The service was really slow. Over 40 minutes in and only tea and a mimosa were served. I really hoped that food was worth it but.. I experienced an ‘instagram vs reality’ moment. In their instagram promotional picture they had an eclair as part of the set. But on stuff they served in reality was different. The eclair was replaced it with an inferior looking lemon cake pastry. I asked about it and they just said the chef changed it. Changed 1 day after they posted on instagram? The server was pleasant enough but mostly absent. Had to flag down a different server to complete my order. Water took minutes to refill. Overall I previously had a good experience with this restaurant before they changed ownership. Not sure if it was just an off day or if the sails are actually sinking.
