I used to like Hook. It wasn't amazing, but solid with a decent wine list, even if most of the food was a bit over-salted. It has gone way downhill. I was alarmed yesterday when the floor around our table was sticky, and then when the glasses were dirty, and then when the bathroom reeked of urine. It wasn't even very busy! The fish and chips were strangely over-battered, with a hard shell that was difficult to cut through, and then made my partner sick. He threw up (violently) for a few hours afterward, and was wiped out the rest of the day. He hadn't eaten anything but toast prior, so it was definitely the food. We won't be back.

Loved the crispy jumbo prawns & oysters. Epic spot for happy hour. Beautiful view of the ocean and service is awesome.

Meh. 33 minutes for drinks. Service was so slow we were half done or meals before we got the first drinks we ordered. The only thing has going for it is the location.

My girlfriend and I are going to this restaurant on regular basis. We love it, such great food and drinks. The bartenders are really creative and excited and get asked to make custom drinks. One of the best restaurant in the neighborhood. I really recommend it for seafood as well.

TVs everywhere. Food is much more expensive than it was. Got spiced fries with no indication that is what they were going to be. I used to go here often and may not ever go again. Surprised how empty it was for Saturday night.

Excellent food, ambience. Our waitress was fantastic. Very friendly and outgoing personality. She made our night much more enjoyable. My date and I were impressed by variety of choice on the menu.

Quiet restaurant but food was not good. I decided to try this place since Craft and Cactus Club were busy.Ordered their Dine Out meal for $45 (I chose the tuna tataki, surf and turf, and lemon merinque). The Tuna Tataki fish did not taste very fresh, and the sauce didn’t pair well with the fish. The salad with it was fine. The “Surf and Turf” surprised me by how unappealing it looked. The steak I ordered was over-done (I asked for medium rare but it arrived well-done), so it was quite dry and tasteless. The crab legs were not very meaty and they only give you two, but the small bit of meat was nice and buttery. The worst of it was that the potatoes were quite oily and had burnt herbs on it that I had to scrape off.The lemon meringue sauce tasted okay, nothing special. But the meringue did not have a meringue texture and was a bit watery or too soft.I got the Earl Grey Fog cocktail and it tasted sour. It tasted like a watered down Gin Sour since the Earl Grey flavour was not apparent.Overall, I feel like I wasted my money entering here. The only redeeming thing about it was that the restaurant is fairly quiet and it looked nice inside.

This place really has had some ups and downs.I came to this restaurant to sample their raw menu. I ordered.a couple of dishes and was extremely disappointed. You would be hard pressed to find any fish in the food and they both tasted very vinegary. The service was also very terrible. I waited a long time for my order as my server had forgotten to pick it up. Not a good experience. Oh! and I really don't like sports. Too many TVs with sports.

Everything was brilliant! Especially the service. It's so refreshing to go to a restaurant where your staff are allowed to wear tasteful and classy outfits of their choice. The lady that served us was very elegant and such a wonderful role model for the for teenage girls we were with. It's really reflects the class, individually and confidence of the people behind the work vs.Just their bodies. Well done!

The food was excellent, well plated, tasty and pretty fair priced. Service was erratic and inconsistent but pleasant. Food was served hot. Really enjoyed the Sable Fish and the Crab bisque was very nice. Looking forward to returning soon. Lovely location. Parking is an issue. I think I'll try their Happy Hour next.

Went for Dine out Vancouver and it was a treat. The menu was great with lots of variety. The Sable fish was a highlight. Delish!Started with the Tuna Tataki and my partner had the Burrata Salad. Finished with us both sampling the deserts. Well worth it.Our server was fantastic and attentive. Great date night spot and I can assume it gets very busy in the summer with a great patio ocean view.
