Came here on a Friday night at 6pm. I made a reservation since there was 5 of us. We were seated right away and tucked in a really cute corner with all the jungle vibes around us. Great for pics! Our server was super friendly and she was very attentive. But let's be real, this place wants to make money from the cocktails. So don't expect too much from the food, although we did have a couple hits. We ordered a variety of things, since there were 5 of us. We tried the octopus 3 ways, and each way was delicious. They have it grilled, fried and tempura. They each had a different yummy sauce to go with each. Small portion, but was good to share with 2 people. The fries are really yummy, hot fresh with a garlic lemony tang and the dipping sauce was perfect. The milk bread is warm and almost has a bit of a croissant feel, slightly flaky and delicious. It goes really well to dip in the laksa bomb broth. Those were little pockets of heaven, with coconut milk and truffle! Just wish there was more of them. I bet the fries would've been yummy to dip in them too! Our friend got the pork belly and he just loved it. Crispy and fatty with a small salad that goes with. The one big miss was the tuna tartar, which came with taro chips. It tasted really fishy and odd. We let the server know and she kindly removed it from our bill. That's important and great service! Finally we tried the pear and chocolate lava cake. Very yummy, mostly chocolate flavour. All in all, it was a fun place to try and to get some fun pics. The music is a bit loud, so you can't get intimate as much as the decor calls for. Parking is also difficult to find if you come before 6pm.

We had the tasting menu for $50/person. Minimum group of 8. It’s family style, meaning that they will bring out a certain amount of dishes depending on how many people in your party and you will all share from the same dish. The only problem is, they did not give serving utensils for some of the dishes (only a few). This was gross especially if you’re sharing with people you just met. Asian restaurants will always provide serving utensils for every single dish. The servers gave us new plates halfway but did not give us new utensils until we asked. He left our used utensils on the dirty table and expected us to eat using them again. Server was very nice though. Same with bartender. We also thought the cutting cost for cake ($4/person) was quite greedy, they’ll still charge you even if you cut the cake yourself. As for the food, it was very mediocre at most. If you’re used to good Asian food, you won’t be impressed as much. Great drink selection. Ambience is very nice, restaurant is clean and well designed for socializing with other tables.

The atmosphere is way more fancier than food, the crab cake benedict was like premade food, it’s too ground to taste the food. Coffee cup came up with lots of stains on it. Before this cup coming I have asked them to switch a dirty cup already, the fork was sticky too. Although they took care of our latte and matcha French toast as apology, sanitary is basic.
I love the interior design and ambiance here. Cool place to hangout as a group. DJ is pro. Foods are standard, but service is not great. We literally waited 45 minutes for one of the waiters to look at us while we were raising hands and calling them but no luck. Food details: chicken could be more cooked but well spiced. Salad was good and had tasty sauce. Cocktails were strong and good for the price.

How have I missed this place? It is truly worth the trek to Denman for fine, tasty food and creative cocktails. The old Dover Arms has been transformed into an upscale cocktail bar with delicious food. Jungle Room is now on my happy hour favourites list.
Went for the first time with a girlfriend to try out this unique bar! So cool inside and add much needed character to Vancouver. The atmospheres really great, the waitresses and bartenders were ok. We kind of kept to ourselves but, they didn’t really take much notice of us either. Would definitely like to go back and try something to eat. Also, be curious to know if they would offer healthier Moctail options without syrups/sugar? Seems to be a hard thing to get in Vancouver?
