I like the egg tarts here more than the ones at T&T. The buns are good too. This place deserves more stars. Its my go to for egg tarts when I'm in the area:)

Other lady got served before me even though i was the only only one in the store for awhile before the other lady came in got custard buns and a lotus seed pastry asked for no egg but the tray must have been mixed up as i got one with egg it had a hair baked into it the side if it and tasted like too much ginger in the lotus seed paste the custard in the bun was clumpy and the bottom was too hard to chew unfortunately threw it out

I don’t know the so-called black shop that sells $2.1 square buns and even the tops and tails of the buns. Today my friend bought his square buns for $0.30 more than the price. I bought his square buns for $2.4. ...When I got home, I found that there were two pieces of bread at the top and bottom, which was more important than the price I bought at $2.1. I won't help anymore, it is too much! There is no business and social ethics! ??????????

If I could, I would have given this place a ZERO-star instead of a 1-star. Don't get me wrong, I've been here many times in the past to buy their eggtarts, wife cakes, lotus paste pastry and lots of variety buns. But this has changed my view from now on. My family and I decided to swing by the bakery to pick up some pastry before going to Western Lake for dinner. There weren't any people inside when we walked in so it made it easier for us to look around. We already chosen the pastry and buns, and I was about to pay. My father, last minute, wanted to buy whole wheat bread cause he finished the breads at home. We searched their shelves and couldn't find it. We asked the lady who worked there, to see if she has any WW bread at the back of the store. She had an attitude that didn't wanted to work; but she said she does and picked one up for us. She said the bag contains both whole wheat breads and white breads (mixture of half white and wheat). She said they were sold out on just the WW bread. We were okay with it. She packed it into a plastic bag and she didn't give it to use to see. We were okay with it cause we thought the bread would be fresh... I was wrong. I paid, she didn't give me a receipt, and I took it back to the car and walked to the restaurant. I got home and was trying to put away the pastry, buns and bread into the fridge and that's when I noticed the WW bread were MOLDY! We were upset that she would sell something like that to us. I took all the pastry, buns and bread back to the bakery store the next morning (cause I didn't have a receipt and I was worried they won't believe I got it there). It was another lady at the cashier and when I told her they sold me a moldy bread, she said: "We don't sell whole wheat bread here. Must be the other store where we get them." And she was like trying to put the blame on others. I told her I just wanted another bag of WW bread but she gave me a white bread. I didn't wanted to argue and left. Yes, I made sure the bread were not moldy before I left. Couple days later, my dad was making lunch and he told me he couldn't bite into the white bread. I found it funny he couldn't so I went to grab the remaining 3 slices of bread out of the bag to inspect what was wrong. One of the bread had this hard or rough surface, so I try to remove it ... and when I removed it from the bread, it was a big piece of white hard PLASTIC BAG material. I can't believe the Baker was this careless. I didn't bother taking it back cause I doubt they will admit it's their fault, and it's going to waste my time and gas. Just not going back here anymore.. I'm just too disappointed at this bakery.

They make the BEST(!!!!!) egg tarts in the city. Seriously delicious and worth breaking the diet for. after having amazing dim sum at Western Lake, waddle the block to get some dessert for later!

Got to try their Yuen Long wife cake 元朗老婆餅 since I know Yuen Long very well in HK.Well at about CAD $1.50, it was pretty good, though not totally comparable to those shops in Yuen Long which have been around for 50-70 years.

I was driving on the way home after work and thought of buying some Chinese bakery goods. I was wondering if any of these unpopular bakeries in this neighbourhood were good. I visited this one at Victoria Drive and E 35th Ave. Victoria Drive is a busy street. Instead of looking for street parking on Victoria Drive, I parked on E 35th Ave instead. I walked a couple blocks to get to this bakery. There was a big bump right behind the bakery. It was stinky when I walked by the bakery on the street. >.<I bought a loaf of coconut bread and a Swiss roll of the vanilla flavour (the basic regular one). I was kind of excited to try them out immediately. After I had a first bite of the Swiss roll, I realized that their quality was not as good as the ones from Maxim's, St. Germaine's, T&T's, Anna's Cake House and other more popular Chinese bakeries in Lower Mainland. I cut some of the coconut bread. Once I cut it, clutters or big chunks of yellow coconut stuck in between the bread. It was way too much of coconut in the bread that the coconut should be spreading out evenly. The pricing of the Swiss roll was a little bit more expensive than the ones from those popular Chinese bakeries. I was paying a little bit more on this Swiss roll but I did not get the same quality of food. I was kind of disappointed. If I would have a choice, I would buy the same type of cake and bread from those popular Chinese bakeries instead. I would not recommend this bakery if you do pay attention to the quality of food.

It's very bad, it's either finding the wrong money or receiving the wrong money. You don’t have to pay tax when you buy bags from other stores, but they charge it (because it confiscated it once before) and I feel cheated. There is a piece of adhesive tape in the middle of the meat floss cake, and I won’t go there in the future??

My parents gave my family and I treats from this place, and I'm so glad they did. My husband gobbled up their pineapple buns and I LOVE their mushroom sausage pizza! I've never seen mushrooms in Chinese pizza before (and I've gone to my fair share of more popular Chinese bakery spots). The dough was light, chewy, and flavourful. They didn't skimp on the toppings like other popular mass produced places. I find that this place really put in a lot of care into their products because they're a mom and pop store. (Also, if you expect products to be exactly like those from mass produced stores, then you're out of luck, because not everything will be exactly the same as maxims or t&t. So, It's probably best to keep driving along to T&T if you're looking for the same dried up, ordinary BASIC buns. But if you want flavourful and delicate treats, then definitely STOP and check this bakery out). I wish I took a photo of my pizza before eating it... but I gobbled it all up before I could pull out my camera hahaha I'm going back today for more pastries. 5/5 yum! Ps: this place is called KARMONY CAKE HOUSE.
