Actually authentic Japanese. Chef and owner is this old super sweet Japanese couple. Service can be slow when it’s just the two of them, and prices are not “cheap” but expect quality, lots of care when it comes to the food and a quiet homely atmosphere. A hole in the wall so come and be prepared to chill. Finally a place that has actual tamago and not that rubbery neon stuff that most places serve. And the miso soup you can actually taste the homemade dashi. This is the real stuff.

We ordered food from here to eat at the beach and we ended up waiting a while until our food was ready. Also, I looked at my receipt after the fact and I come to find out that I got overcharged an extra roll ($16)! The food tasted average but the location is convenient, right by the beach.

A long timer in Kits. This restaurant is an oasis, small, quiet and comfortable. The sushi is still great! And you have your choice of a traditional Tatami room or one with a table you can put your feet under! And the hosts are lovely!

Coming from southern California I have had my fair share of sushi; both high and low quality at all spectrums of cost. My partner and I went here completely by chance during vacation were amazed. The server did a great job accommodating us (only English speaking). Both the sushi and appetizers were some of the best we've had and competitive in price for the quality delivered. 100% a must go for a special sushi occasion!

We went to this restaurant for having a birthday dinner. Unfortunately, the service is so poor when we were all done ordering our food, the server comeback again in less than 10min to confirm our order if it was correct and that time it was understandable to confirm the correct order. After that one, we waited more than 1 hour for our food to be served. when we eat our order, there is a fish scale in the sushi food and the water they served had dust.Hopefully, the owner/management will improve their services and make sure they will satisfy their customer.

Waited almost 1.5 hours for our food with no apology. Asked for extra rice because there was very little in the $42 dish ordered, and they said the miniature bowl of rice would be $4. After keeping people waiting for 1.5 hours, the very LEAST you could do is offer them RICE or TEA or ANYTHING for free to try to make it right. Never had such poor service at a Japanese restaurant. We ate and left still sooo hungry because we didn’t want to order more and wait that long again (or pay those prices for such poor service). We went home and made food for everyone. The miso soup was also a letdown… basically just broth. They have lost customers from the neighbourhood. Such a waste of time and money. I felt embarrassed to have brought my guests there. We should have gotten takeout and brought it to the beach instead.
