Updating my review because of excellent service just before closing on the evening of 27 March 2024.

I love how they added extra noodle portions for free!! I used to think that their portions were very small but now I actually get full. Sometimes I feel that their service isn't the best since their servers are very rushed and seem very cold. The ambience is cute tho and I like the decor!

The mazesoba was very disappointing. Considering it is campus food it is okay. Especially the type of noodle that absorbs all the moisture which make overall dish so dry. I got salmon it was very dry and hard to swallow. Most of my friends got Zenbu which was better with meat oil but still it is very dry… I think undon noodle must be much better with tautly texture. And couple of other friends got ramen but they had way less soup which was hard to consider as ramen.

Great and very attentive servers! They were the highlight of my experience. Tried the new Carbonara Mazesoba and enjoyed it very much.

Other than being told they cant upsize for takeout (why?), the food was okay! The takoyaki is suprisingly crispy on the outside and the nizu mazesoba noodles were very nice and QQ. Really liked the generous dose of spring onions and seaweed. The pork belly tho was not really braised and abit hard. 7/10Didnt sit down to eat so cant comment on that but abit hard to find the place

It's ok. Had takeout. The mazesoba was fine, but the quantity is a bit small and the meat is a tad hard.

The ramen here is fine, but not really good or bad enough to warrant much of a review. I do, however, feel compelled to review the ice cream here, which is the worst ice cream I've ever had. I tried it with a friend of mine and the two of us, together, were unable to finish one cup of it.They advertise Hokkaido ice cream which, if you've ever had the real thing, you'll have high expectations for. It turns out that not only do they not make Hokkaido ice cream (which is made using Hokkaido milk), they use powdered milk. If you didn't grow up poor enough to drink milk from powder instead of fresh milk, you've probably never tasted anything like this. I suggested you keep it that way. If you have the misfortune of having subsisted on powdered milk, well, maybe you'll want to try a spoon or two of this for nostalgia's sake, but I'm willing to bet that you won't finish a cone.I asked them about the odd flavor of the ice cream and they told me that, oh, yeah, we don't use Hokkado milk, but we use the same machine for soft serve. It's not the machine that's important here! Anyway, if you want Hokkaido ice cream, you can get some grocery store Hokkaido ice cream shipped from Japan at Konbiniya.

Awful place. I went to the restaurant with my friends after a walk around campus and was literally forced to order even though I didn't want to eat/order anything, I was just tagging along with my friends. There is a 15$ limit and you have to order food above that to eat there. The food overall was awful and the boss has the worst attitude. The waiters felt extremely sympathetic but couldn't do anything about it. The dessert was alright but things especially the gyoza were insanely bad. Never going there again. it ruined my night. Instead try Kinton ramen for some quality food on campus!

Would recommend sizing up because their regular option is really tiny. Vancouver diet culture makes people go for the regular option but you’re paying 17 bucks for your meal so might as well make sure you’re actually full. The noodles were good - not the best I’ve tasted but in terms of affordability, Kokoro hits the spot.

One of my favourite restaurants in UBC! Prices are affordable and food always tastes great. I personally recommend the mentaiko cream mazesoba and chicken karaage rice bowl. The staff are also very friendly and work efficiently, even when it gets really busy. You can always expect a good dining experience at Kokoro! :)

Kokoro Mazesoba is an absolute delight! The unique blend of flavors in their mazesoba bowls is unparalleled. Each bite is a symphony of taste, with perfectly balanced textures and a rich umami experience. The noodles are cooked to perfection, and the variety of toppings create a harmonious dish. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff only enhance the dining experience. Five stars for delivering a culinary journey that keeps me coming back for more!
