My friend and I headed here for brunch Sunday morning. We agreed to sit at the bar given there were no other tables available and we didn't really want to wait. The atmosphere is lovely, a little cramped perhaps and a little loud at times. That said, the food was good. My friend and I both got the eggs benedict and avocado which was yummy. I would come here again. We both managed to find parking on Hastings Street, no problem.

The good: The food is amazing, I had the huevos bañados and my wife had the chilaquiles, both with nice presentation, full of flavour. My wife is kind of a Coffee snob, very picky but she insisted I mentioned in my review that the coffee was very good, smooth and bold. We were meeting old tenants of ours we keep in touch with and we had a long chat, we were never disturbed or rushed to vacate the table. I like the inside even though is a small place. The not so good: Don't come here very hungry because the servings are on the small side, however I see that everywhere we go this days, Restaurant owners reducing the size of servings to compensate the high cost of ingredients, labour, rent, etc. So I get that part and I don't fault or give a bad review because of that. At the time to pay the bill, the machine handed to you comes with the tip screen and the lowest is 18%, I mean you can customize it, but I think everyone is doing that. The service was worth of a tip and it was earned. So: Overall a great experience, will definately go back.
Variety of brunch options at an affordable rate! I This is an easy commute for me so I am a repeat customer. They are not big on ambience or atmosphere, it does look a bit dingy to me? but who’s checking. Just enjoy your meal and keep it going ☺️
Delicious food and cocktails. Service was great and quick. This is a must-try- highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian tacos, appetizers, and other delicious dishes.

Amazing staff and service! Delicious Mexican food in the heart of Hastings-Sunrise! Reasonably priced and authentic menu items, with fantastic cocktails! If you’re seeking real Mexican food then don’t pass on El Roundel Cafe. Definitely a huge fan of both the brunch and dinner options. Amazing place!!Vegetarian options: Both brunch and dinner menus have multiple vegetarian options. Tofu scramble, bean or avocado Bennys during brunch are a favorite of mine. The dinner menu offers some delicious vegetarian tacos such as quesadilla jamaica or mushroom in mole sauce! Yum!!!Dietary restrictions: So many veggie and gluten-free options. Manny brunch items can be made vegan.Kid-friendliness: I wouldn’t host a children’s party here, but it’s definitely a great spot to bring the family for breakfast or dinner.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs and wheelchair accessible seating at tables.
It's not as delicious as I expected from the reviews, but still good taste, portion, and service.

Smelly... Strong amonia stench. Either pluming issues or multiple stray cats doing their business... Menu looked good though so kinda disappointed we had to leave.

I recommend not only the breakfasts at this place, but also the dinner, the variety of simple but highly recommended Mexican dishes is simply delicious, although the portions are small in relation to the price, without a doubt you will not regret it, you willI recommend ordering a little of everything to share, accompany them with a good michelada.
What has been one of our favourite hidden gems of a brunch location for years is now one of our favourite dinner places!Roundel appears to be EL Roundel, and holy moley the Mexican food is good. On par withles mezcaleria.
