Great Persian food at reasonable prices! One of the best food spots on campus! I recommend the Kebab and the shawarma in particular, but their eggplant stew and falafel are also delicious! Very filling portion sizes too.

I ordered the saffron chicken with zeresht rice and I was satisfied with how the food taste and how filling it was, that I even had leftovers. My husband ordered khoreshte ghayme and he said that this place made this dish very well. For dessert we got sholeh shard and I love how it this place didn’t make this dessert to sweet! Next time I’m in UBC I will probably go to this place again ☺️Vegetarian options: Sholeh zhard

I didn't even realize there was a UBC location, till I ordered off doordash and realized it wasn't coming from the location on Broadway. This location is just as good as the original, and I recommend trying it. It's so nice to have very good Persian food at reasonable prices. I've definitely had the exact same dishes at other Persian places, that were significantly more expensive, and not nearly as good.....

New branch of Sahel at UBC featuring donair and Persian food. The ordering counter is downstairs with a seating area upstairs. It wasn't particularly clean: some tables had crumbs and there was trash on the floor under some tables, which weirdly is carpeted. The furniture, however, is in good condition and comfortable.I had a felafel plate and a rice pudding. The food was average quality. The sauces they use are a little different than the typical sauces: the white sauce was thicker and tangier and the red sauce had a hint of heat but mostly tasted like a zestier and thinner version of ketchup (this is maybe not the most appealing way of describing it - it was good, like a cross between hot sauce and ketchup). I liked the different flavours and the rice was actually pretty good, but I was indifferent about the felafel and hummus. I doubt either are made by them. The rice pudding had a nice flavour but was almost gelatinous in consistency, which I can't decide how I feel about. The prices ($17 for the plate and $5 for the rice pudding) are fair for the amount of food you get, which is pretty generous. I finished everything but was very hungry, so if you have a smaller appetite you will have leftovers. Two people could easily split a rice pudding.I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars, but the guys working were very nice so I will round up. I probably wouldn't get the felafel plate again (it wasn’t bad, just not particularly impressive), but I am interested in trying the Persian stuff.
If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, I highly recommend checking out this place! The food is amazing, and the staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful people you'll ever meet. The atmosphere is also great, making it the perfect Persian cuisine, and the good thing is that it's on campus now.
