Went here for birthday dinner with friends, ordered the family platter and full rack of ribs. The platter was not as big as we thought and the ribs are better on the full rack dish than in the platter. Recommend order regular dish separately and share it with the whole table.

I remember this spot from when Foundation was there... and honestly, still haven't stopped missing it and maybe I was avoiding the replacements.Barbeque finally sucked us in and WOW! I'm so sorry that I waited so long. We got the Saturday Platter and it knocked it out of the park!The brisket was tender and so flavourful. The barbacoa beef was perfect and the ribs might have been the best I've had. For the sides, we picked cornbread, cuke&tomato salad, mac&cheese & fries. They were all good but the cornbread was awesome! I do wish that places would stop putting jalapeno in mac&cheese. It was good but would've been stellar without the jalapeno flavour and creamier cheese sauce.One final shout out for the service. It was great, attentive and never intrusive. He did a great job.

The Nashville Hot Chicken Sammie is my favourite chicken burger in all of Vancouver. The crispy rater tots are scrumptious. Slim's is definitely our favourite local stop for satisfying comfort food. The service is prompt and friendly and the atmosphere funky and welcoming. Nothing fancy, just great food and beer. Love the fact that they have good vegan options too. We highly recommend Slim's BBQ!

Absolutely delicious!We shared the daisy may but that dish easily could be for 1 hungry person!The spicy Mac and Cheese was definitely spicy but so good! I'd add the pulled pork to it as it may cut the spice a bit.When I return I'd be getting the ribs as they were so good!Small place with limited seating but great atmosphere.

The banana pudding was tremendous, and I don’t even like bananas! And lastly, our server was terrifying beautiful and had me holding my breath every time they came by. I hope to be back soon!

I had a moment where someone was threatening me on Main Street out of no where. I walked into Slims and everyone came to help me. I can’t thank the staff enough for their immediate attention and care, you guys are amazing ❤️Local businesses and community is why I love being apart of Mount Pleasant.

All the meats are gf, they have a dedicated fryer, and there are even vegan and vegetarian options, which are rare on a barbeque menu. We tried the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket, fries, and slaw. Everything was excellent. Style-wise, it's a pretty standard little bbq place but cozy. Service was really great and knowledgeable (including letting us know we arrived at brunch the first time, which wasn't what we wanted so we came back for the full menu that night).

Underrated gem!To be fair, I didn't have any of the dedicated BBQ meats--I had the brisket/chuck burger, but it was cooked to perfection. The perfect amount of char on the outer edges, the juicy middle. I was surprised that it didn't come with a tomato--I know I ordered the meat burger, but I'd still like at least a few vegetables.The standout, however, was the cornbread. Normally I'd hate the texture of a cornbread that has entire corn kernels and jalapeno in it, but this one WORKS. The addition of the maple butter really pulls it all together and makes it a unique side that I'll have to get again.I ate there today and the place was basically completely empty--right at 12:30, smack dab in the middle of lunchtime. Not sure why that'd be--this seems like a place that's tailor made for local big bearded hipster guys to go for lunch. Even the music they were playing sold that vibe. But it was sadly empty except for me and one guy who came in as I was finishing my food. Maybe part of it is the location/neighborhood? Maybe people don't like carnivores and vegans coexisting peacefully? Either way, I recommend it.
