Me and my partner recently came here to sit in, and had delicious Eggels with roast veggies (including really nice seemingly wild mushrooms!), plus a cheeky latka on the side. It was tasty, generous sizing, and good value. I'm really baffled as to why this place has a low rating, it seems like people are taking out their anger about other things on a small bakery, which is sad. The sesame seeds on the bagel was burnt and gave it a weird taste. The cream cheese amount is awesome though. Might go back and try another bagel or just ask for them to double check the bagel first. Edit to add: the seeds were black in colour and were definitely burnt. I do enjoy a classic sesame bagel often and know how they are supposed to taste (Montreal, New York).

Solly's bagel used to be better in terms of displaying all the ingredients on their sandwich bagels. The other day, I ordered an eggel de lox, and there were capers in it, which I dislike so much! They don't list all of the ingredients, and in my opinion, they should!

I'm not sure what to think of those who have previously left negative reviews because what they comment on seems really nit-picky (or specific to certain individual staff). We ordered a couple of schmears and ate in, so the bagels were freshly toasted. Excellent. Also ordered some of the cinnamon buns to take to my nephews - when eating them a couple of hours later they were still excellent. The place is small for eat in and it's not the most luxurious of places, but fits the bill for a quick bite. Would definitely come back for a quick breakie.

A Asian girl served me and sneezed behind the counter without a mask. Bagels tasted average, no surprise. Hopefully, the staff can care more about hygiene. $1.75/ea.

Ordered delivery and they forgot my coffee, got a refund so its fine but no caffeine so it's a lil rough. The latke was great and the chive and garlic cream cheese is very tasty. I also got a potato knish and I feel like it should have been warmed up a little so I wasn't eating cold mashed potatoes, that was disappointing. Napkins in the bag with the takeout would have been very appreciated too, the schmear is schmearing.

My go to is generally the "other" place but if you know Montreal it's a bit of personal preference at play.Both St Viateur and Fairmont in Montreal are great but they are different!Here the food options are a bit broader - they have bagel crisps and lavash.I would get the crisps and lavash way more often if they came in smaller packages soho wasn't faced with wasting food.Their cinnamon bun is decent but doesn't hold a candle to the other place in Kits...They have other food to go - not sure about their Montreal smoked meat or if they have the beef salami.You won't go wrong here

Solly's bagels are more like ordinary bread than true bagels. so lacking in flavor and consistency I actually bought 6 and threw 4 out for the birds to eat. I was very disappointed and will not be going back, ever.
Employee returned from break/picking something up outside and proceeded to make orders with bare hands. No hand wash, no gloves. I tossed my bagel out.Update:Thank you for your sarcastic reply. It’s really a shame that a business owner would show such lack of integrity in handling this situation. Using slanderous comments against customers on the internet clears shows that your business does not value the relationship between employees and customers in the community. I take comfort in knowing that I’m not the only one who has had this issue, and that other potential customers can see your poor business and customer service practices for themselves.

I don’t like to leave reviews ever but Solly’s bagelry deserves it. Guys their Cinnabun is to die for. I tried pretty much every single café that sells cinnamon roll/Cinnabun and Solly’s is THE BEST ONE. If you haven’t had one yet, please please please go get some to treat yourself. It’s dense but not chewy with crispy outside shell and soft and moist inside. I got six again today had one immediately, didn’t even wait till I got back to the car?

Used the same utensil for cream cheese. Server picked out the onion bits with bare fingers from cream cheese container from my cinnamon bagel. I paid for it and tossed it in the trash. Not sure of taste, but will not be returning due to cleanliness issues.

The one time I went I saw the manager? Owner? Berate the employee infront of customers for seemingly very minor "problems" that I dont think they can control. It was probably the most uncomfortable thing I've ever witnessed. I hope they're treated way better regularly than what I saw that day.

Sour meat y'all! A bad dinner from somewhere else last night and now these guys serve sour meat. Fabulous. Looked at reviews to see if this was ever mentioned and I don't see it so maybe this is a one off, even though they were asked if it was fresh! I don't blame the staff after reading the responses from the owner on unfavourable reviews! What an immature waste of skin she is! Goodness me, you have got to be kidding!. I'm out and SIEGEL'S is the ONLY WAY TO GO! Look below for a nasty response from the owner and believe her when she shows you who she is as she has attacked many reviewers online, and I frankly cannot believe my eyes. WOW
