I visited Sopra Sotto for dinner recently and had a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and all the food was delicious!The house made pasta I had was amazing.I plan to return and try their pizza!

Came here for the first time with my fiance about a year ago & were DREAMING of their calzone so we came again recently & it didn’t disappoint. When coming the first time, we tried the truffle mushroom pasta & the bolognese, as well as their calzone.First of all, both times when we went it was just before 5 so the restaurant wasn’t too busy and after ordering, our food came out so fast! They make their pasta in house & the truffle pasta was wonderfully chewy and creamy & made for a perfect dish for a mushroom lover! My fiancé also enjoyed his bolognese, both pastas were hot and flavorful. We ordered it again the second time we went!The star of the show is their calzone!! The calzone has fresh ricotta and pepperoni inside & it truly speaks to how simple fresh ingredients are sometimes all you need. It comes with arugula and cherry tomatoes on the side and when you eat it all together, it is the perfect combination. For anyone coming here, I highly recommend sharing (or not) the calzone! I cannot wait to come back & try more items on the menu.

The space was really cute and the food was really good.But..We felt a bit rushed out when the salad arrived quickly followed by the entre.⭐️⭐️We were there for a birthday dinner ( Which was noted in the reso and the host was aware when we arrived)We were twice offered 6oz/$10 house wine refill but not a dessert, digestive of coffee.Felt like the take out (both skip etc and customer pick up) was a priority ⭐️⭐️Our server(s) were nice but not overly attentive for such a small space.

Atmosphere is classic Vancouver dim lit place - Pretends to be cozy and cute but really not especially if you are seated at the small tables.Service was the highlight of our evening:* Hostess * Story timeLast night at Sopra Sotto...they said they called us and gave the table away. "The call " was 3 secs" I called back to receive voice-mail. I got the impression that they want more than 2 people. She seem to be annoyed to be called out on her bluff about trying to call us when I showed her the call log - Gave us the worst possible spot at the bar right at the POS. Bar staff was professional and quick - we got a table upon request. Leaving 2 stars just because of this. If this is a deliberate behavior to not seat people and pretend to do your job, they need a good look at who they hire, or how managing policies are.

The restaurant is stylish and the service is good; however, I was disappointed by the food. Both the carnonara and gnocchi were bland. The focaccia was fine, but nothing special.The music was quite loud, so it was better for those who like a lively venue than those who want something quiet and relaxing.

Our server was wonderful and by FAR the best gluten friendly (definitely not celiac recommended imo) pizza I've ever had. Happy hour at 9 was also a welcome surprise. We will be back!!!
My partner and I have been here a few times now and each time we’re always enamoured by the service, atmosphere and food.Significantly tonight, Gabriel provided amazing service, our food arrived within minutes of being ordered. Everything was perfectly delicious, thank you for the evening!

Gluten free pizza was incredible! Light, fluffy crust with tasty toppings :). Nice selection of Italian wines but a bit pricey. Wish the server would have informed us the salad we ordered had gluten in it as we asked for GF pasta already but otherwise lovely experience!

Pastas were great. Caesar salad was mediocre. The server was downright awful, some of the worst service ever. Sat with just water for over 30 minutes and she didn't even check up on the table. She didn't have a ton of tables so it was confusing watching her stand behind the bar looking around. Also pretty unfriendly, regret tipping her at all. Would maybe give the restaurant another chance for the food, but not for the service.

Enjoyed dinner here tonight. We got a salad to share and a vegetarian pizza to share. It was just the right amount although I could have easily eaten a whole pizza myself! The pizza is thin crust but I found the crust a bit too soggy for my taste. I noticed my friend rolled up her pizza slices to eat them. The servers were friendly and checked in on us often. They were kind enough to let us remain sitting and talking after we finished eating. Parking can be a problem. Had trouble finding paid steeet parking even but there is a paid parking lot nearby. Yikes! Didn’t get a pic of the veggie pizza ?Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian pizza options, salads and other veg itemsParking: There is a paid parking lot on Grant Street. Hard to find even paid street parking spots especially during meal timesKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome but it is a quieter atmosphere- not for noisy kids.
