Sushi Taku used to be one of my favourite sushi places, and I often recommended it to friends. However, my last visit was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Beef Roll bento, which included California rolls, beef teriyaki rice, salad, tempura, and miso soup.Unfortunately, the salad seemed to be made with leftover or undesirable lettuce. The salad sauce had changed, resulting in a lack of taste and flavor. The beef teriyaki was overly dry and lacked flavor as well. To make matters worse, I found a hair in the miso soup.The only items I enjoyed were the California rolls and tempura, although I noticed that the size of the California rolls had been reduced.Overall, my lunch experience was unpleasant, and Sushi Taku will no longer be my favourite spot.

Tried this place on a bit of a whim and was not disappointed. The sushi is fresh, tastes, great and is well constructed. The service is very friendly and the prices are quite reasonable for Vancouver sushi. I will definitely order from here again and look forward to trying more of their menu!Edit: Ordered several times now and it’s been great every time. The most recent time they got my order wrong but went out of their way to fix it and I was extremely impressed. They know how to earn loyal customers!Parking: If there are no spots on Joyce, there’s free 2hr parking on a lot of the surrounding streets.

very weird experience today with the staff, i’ve been eating here for over 3 years now today i decided to order too so i went and ordered from the front because the restaurant was full but one table left as soon as i finished ordering so i sat there to eat inside but the waitress literally kicked me and and sat two other people so when i told her she said we thought you wanted to leave this was extremely rude she didn’t even apologize, every customer should be equally respected and i did not feel that way today, won’t be coming back even though i always enjoyed the food

I’ve been consistently disappointed with this establishment. On several visits, my food arrived soggy and the rolls fell apart, signaling a lack of care in preparation. The overall quality is mediocre at best. Service is really bad and their hours are notoriously unreliable. It's disheartening to see a decline in standards, especially for regular customers. I'd advise against supporting a business that neglects the quality of both its food and service especially once it’s established regulars, it’s disappointing.
