FYI, this bakery is now operating under a new owner but using the same name & location. The quality of the bread is not even close to the prior owner who made the most incredible breads. We should have known as there was no customers in the store when last summer, there was always a line and the bread was sold out almost every Saturday.

Love their sourdough bread. I stocked up on the charcoal sourdough just before the original owner left. I will be good for a bit but intend to see how the new owner's bread compares. If it is even close to as good, I will be happy. Their bread is amazing.

First thing when I walked in was the sense of a friendly environment, That staff are very respectful and understanding. As well as the pastry being well worth your dollar

As of January 16, 2020, the Bakeshop is not here anymore. The current bakery is under new ownership.

Food is quality but the people who run it are a bit of a mess

Seriously amazing. Perfect croissants and super friendly owner/baker! My only complaint is that they are only open 3 days a week :') and not quite early enough for me to stop by before work.

Purchased a croissant and foccacia loaf from here as we were in the neighbourhood. Both were delicious. The croissant was buttery and flaky with a little bit of crispness outside. There was also a surprising hint of sweetness. The foccacia loaf was great as well and enjoyed at home with an herbes de provence huile d'olive and balsamic dip. Would definitely purchase again.

Best bread in town - and try the danish "snegl" - coming from a true Dane this is the real stuff. Amazing quality

Just tried some Bakeshop sourdough quinoa-oatmeal bread that I bought at their stall at Riley Park farmers' market. Sooo delicious!! Beautiful tasty crust, and completely perfect inside -- moist and slightly chewy.

Best bread and pastries in Vancouver hands down, 10/10 always

I buy this bread at the Farmer's Market. It freezes beautifully and all the varieties are excellent. It really is the daily bread. Samples are happily offered and the charcoal bread is amazing to look at. My favourite is the sunflower but the focaccia is brilliant too. Best bakery in Vancouver!

Oh...I am so looking forward to try the Bakeshop's products since I saw many good pictures and reviews. Came here today but they are closed. On the website and Google information both states open..so disappointed.

After waiting forever to renew my DL at the ICBC office across the street, I decided to get some treats to bring home for my kid (and, let's be honest, for myself as well!). This bakery is small and unassuming from the street, but once you enter, you're transported back to the local family bakeshops of yore. At least, the kind I remember from the 60's and early 70's. It's the antithesis of a big-name chain. It's cozy, unpretentious, the kind of place where the employee/owner would know his customers by name. Devoid of kitsch. You enter this place and you are surrounded by nothing but racks of breads, shelves of cookies and muffins and scones, and the heady aroma of baked goods. I ordered three cookies, each bigger than my hand. They cost $3 each or two for $5. The verdict? My kid says the cookies were a "10 out of 10"! I liked them - a lot, - but I wasn't blown away, whereas my kid was. (I'm not into peanut butter and the cookie I had was made with the stuff, so it wasn't for me). I wish I had bought a brownie or muffin, as they looked TO DIE FOR. I've heard amazing things about the sourdough bread here, too. This place, though out of the way for me, is definitely worthy of a return visit.

Amazing bread, treats, and coffee. Local shop with wonderful people breaking bread fresh every day. If you appreciate good bread you need to check it out. Also make huge sandwiches. But you need to ask for them as they are tucked away.
