June 6, 2021Takeout orderGot some veggie burgers on the way back from a long trip, when the family was in a pinch for some food. Tree hugger to be specific. For a vegan option, get the Tree hugger without the cannibal sauce. We also got the Full French Fries, and Yam Fries, as well as 1 breast of Fried Chicken without spice, for the doggy.Food was very good and flavorful, another great burger joint!I would definitely be interested to check out the interior dining experience some day; I'm someone who enjoys the 50s style diners very much.Vegetarian options: Get the Tree Hugger!Parking: Paid street parking, or turn into the residential streets and try your luck there. It's hard no matter which way you slice it.

Great burgers and fries joint! It doesn’t rely on hype like so many “best burger in town” place - it’s just tasty burger.

This was a cool place that I have meaning to try. The burgers were delicious! Not commercial tasting at all. We also had a side of fried and onion rung, which was very tasty as well. Would definitely want to go back to try the milkshakes and it looked really good as well.

I had a great experience during my first visit to Cannibal! Situated in the heart of Commercial Drive, it’s a gem that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home. The ambiance, with some awesome rock ‘n roll playing in the background, adds to the overall vibe. As for the food, I ordered the salmon burger, and it was an absolute delight – delicious and satisfying.

Best place to get a burger in Vancouver. Me and my Mom shared the Bacon Burger and Honey Garlic Wings. The food was delivered very quickly by the kind staff, and it tasted amazing. 10/10 would reccomend and go again.

I just wouldn't recommend the salmon burgers, but others might delight you. The beer seems a little watered down or metallic. Don't really want to say these things about this place but it's so meh now. Sorry guys, too expensive for soggy and not

Different than past meals…I was disappointed - smaller portion than expected. Soggy fries, when crisp was requested. Parts of the chicken slightly burned. Everything was tasty, just not as satisfying as the usual meal at Cannibal. No quality check. Hoping it’s an anomaly.

Having previously been there for a Bacon Bro burger, I went back and asked for the same with an extra patty. What I got looked more like a taco than a burger, with about 2/3 of a patty and the rest a meagre assortment of meat scraps. I asked about it and the cook said, "I gave you one stuffed patty and one plain one." Not what I ordered, and also not true, since in no way did the food on my plate add up to the two patties I was being charged for.It looked and tasted like he had scraped some overcooked leftover bits and pieces from the grill and piled them onto my plate with a castoff partial-patty. Unlike the previous visit, the meat tasted like sawdust and I got ill after eating it. The fries and the bacon were the only good things about the meal. I won't be returning.

Not what it used to be. Still, it's a nice hang out.I used to come here about once a week a few years ago before covid shut things down. The vibe is similar but the food is not the same. Burgers used to be bigger and better... It's still ok but when you know what it was it's not the same.

Let me regale you with a story about my man Doug: I come in late, order a poutine to go from my very polite server named Doug. I get my food and there's no fork. I get told Cannibal ran out of takeout forks. Seeing I'm a bit bummed about that, Doug tells me to wait a moment and he starts sprinting down the street. After a few minutes he comes back, unable to find the forks but offered some skewers as a consolation. Right after someone who saw Doug looking for forks comes with a bunch of take out forks. I thank Doug after this and ask his name. Sure hope I'm not misremembering his nameThat's an absurd amount of extra work for customer service and I will forever appreciate Doug for that. The Poutine was also pretty good. Fair size for the price with great quality fries. Would eat here again, fork or no fork

Somethings changed at the restaurant. We used to go here at least one to two times a month. But our last two visits have both been awful. The food has changed from the yam fries(used to be my favourite in the city) to the dipping sauces to the salad. Changed as in the entire recipes are different. The yam fries are cut differently and a lot less crispy. The honey mustard and a couple dipping sauces are completely different and much worse. The salad now is a sad, lazy mess. The portion sizes are now different too. This has never been the cheapest restaurant for this kind of food but the portion sizes were at least adequate. Now a chicken strip order for $22 looks little larger than a fast food chicken nuggets order.I have no idea what is going on here. Did the chefs change? Did the management change? There are servers here that I have never seen before and they are far less friendly and attentive than the past crew. Finally, never order delivery or take out from this restaurant. They will consistently forget any add-ons and sauces. We got an order of poutine once that was literally just dry fries with cheese cubes and no gravy. I gave their delivery and pick up a few chances. Just don’t do it. This was bad before with the old staff/management and its just as bad now with the difference being that the food is also no longer as good and worth the price.Sorry, Cannibal Cafe but as long time patrons, I think we have to give up and go somewhere else for our wings, burgers and beer fix.

The service was just ok, only saw our waitress twice. The burgers are way smaller than they used to be. Ordered a burger with no onions and it came with lots of onions. Ruined the whole burger. All of our burgers were so small. They used to be huge and taste amazing, don't know what has happened to this

We decided to check out The Cannibal Café at 1818 Commercial Dr on a whim this past Sunday, and it was a total win! We didn't know it, but Sundays have an all-day happy hour! The Cannibal Junior and Cannibal Fries were a straight-up steal. In fact, the fries were what had inspired us to go there in the first place, and they didn’t disappoint. There wasn’t a single bite left of anything that we ordered. We also ordered a Bacon Bad Burger with onion rings. It was quite surprising how much bacon was actually involved in this creation. The bun held together beautifully through each bite. That, coupled with an ultra-fresh, crunchy tomato slice, made me very happy - two things that can quickly ruin an otherwise good burger. The mayo that came with the onion rings was one of the best I’ve ever tried.Service? Top-notch. Our wonderful server kept an eye on us and brought us fresh water several times, and she was super friendly. And get this – she treated our dog like a VIP, and even had some treats ready! We had called ahead to make sure we didn’t have to drop our pet off at home before coming to eat, and they said no problem! The kitchen staff were great too. They even halved our burgers for easier sharing. And it was fast too - the food was there before we knew it.I highly recommend this restaurant, and I can’t wait to go back and try a few more things - maybe a milkshake next time!

we decided to go for dinner on teh Drive. Burgers were on our mind. Bacon Burgers were very good . They were juicy, fries were also good. Wish they would have brought out cutlery. But all was good.
