Loved the vibe here - wandered in for an early dinner and luckily it was Happy Hour! The food was delicious - lots of smaller 'tasting' options (we tried many!) and our server very welcoming. The place filled up fast and everyone was loving their food and drink. Will definitely be back when we are in Vancouver again.

Aloha, cruising Gastown for a cold beer voila stumbled upon the Flying Pig. A chain in the area, nice. Consistent cold IPA beers, yes. Loud 80s music, made you almost get up and start dancing lol. Of course needed to try a few Canadian pupus of truffle Parmesan fries, truffle Mac n cheese and Bison carpaccio. Wow, yum broke da mouth appetizers. I love Canada!

In the heart of Gastown, we went for brunch on a Saturday and it was half full. Not busy not empty which is nice. Quickly greeted and seated, it was a nice start. The food was pretty good. I had the side truffle Mac and cheese and shared the side Brussels- so delicious. I went into a food coma right after that. My friends had a burger and also a breakfast plate which was huge!! I've never seen such a big breakfast plate before.

Not a good day at the flying pig. It seemed like the server was overworked and inexperienced. The food was okay but not what you would expect at the price point. Maybe another day would be better.

This place is incredible! It's classic but you don't feel restrained, very casual vibe and also as a great place for a date night. Food was amazing. We went straight with two entrees - one Mushroom Pappardelle and one Steelhead Trout. The pasta was perfectly creamy and had a great texture. The fish was fresh, tender and well seasoned. It came with rice which was tasty too. Service was great. We had two drinks and the total price was not even $80. This was one of the best places I've been to over the past year. Food Quality & Presentation +1 Ambience +1 Price vs. Quality +1 Service +1 Other - Drinks, Interior +1

Amazing staff, excellent service and the cocktails were to die for thanks to Oscar the Mexican bar tender ? made us feel so welcome even though he was unable to pronounce my name ?

Went early on a Saturday around 430pm and there was a 30 mins wait. When we went we didn't account for a pretty robust happy hour menu which is 3 to 6. So the place was full.We were told 30 min, seated in about 40, we had the option for a bar seat at the 30 min mark but opted for a table. So the guy at the front, pretty legit on his timings. My girlfriend and I had planned to tuck into a big dinner but the happy hour menu was excellent. We had salmon cakes, pulled pork sliders, and chicken wings. We supplemented a few non happy hour items the steak tar tar and the Brussel sprouts (gf idea....love u babe). The steak tar tar and then Brussel sprouts were excellent. The rest were good.Server made a mistake and brought us something we didn't order. She fixed it right away when we let her know. So I give the service a good score. We ordered the drinks off the happy hour list. Wine, beer, and highball to choose from.We were full from the appies and never made it to the main menu. We will go back for that.I couldn't tell if there was a dj tucked away somewhere but they had some cool 90's hip hop going mixed in with new music. Vibe is cool and location clean and fun.Price point was $$ to $$$. Perfect for a date, drinks with friends, or a business meeting.

5 stars for customer service - The waiter was able to move us to a quieter spot so we weren't sitting under the loud music speaker. He also was helpful with selecting a meal to accommodate dairy and gluten allergies.3 stars for the food - The steak was on the dryer side and could have used more flavour. The seafood in the paella were cold when they arrived. It's possible that the meats aren't thawed before cooking. The vegetables were wonderfully done!If you like a louder environment, this place is for you! If you'd like a quiet romantic meal, then you may want to try another spot.

I'm leaving one star simply because I have to leave something to make this post. The staff.. wonderful. The host... wonderful. The server we had that we later found out was the manager... absolute trash. He doesn't belong in customer service. I could excuse the flavorless food and even the mussels that were bad- but I cannot excuse the disgusting behavior of this guy. He treated us like trash from the moment we got there. He forgot to ask us what we wanted to order. We waited for almost 30 minutes to even get enough attention to make our dinner order. He was too "busy" to explain what the food was. But spent an abundant amount of time leaning against the rail chatting it up with some locals. I guess my American money wasn't good enough for this manager to take his valuable time to do his job. The food was terrible, but the service was what made it a nightmare.Mr. Manager- You earned every cent of the ZERO tip you got after you snatched the credit card receipt away. We didn't even get a chance to sign it. Rude! Rude! RUDE!Save yourself the time and find another restaurant!May your employees all find a better place to work.

First off, the service provided by the host and server was amazing! Super welcoming people. Came here on a Monday for all day happy hour, definitely a good choice. I recommend the meat and cheese boards and the jumbo truffle Mac and cheese, crazy good!!!Definitely returning!!!!

Spent the evening here with a friend on our last night in Vancouver before flying home to Alberta and MAN was it amazing. The food is incredible and the service was top notch. I forgot the name of our server but he was so friendly and willing to play along with our banter. Loved my time here!

My family and I were wondering through Gastown trying to find a place to stop for lunch and happened upon The Flying Pig. Due to COVID restrictions, they could only be at 50% capacity but were able to find a place for us at the bar which suited us just fine. The bartenders were very attentive when taking our orders. I ordered the wagyu burger and requested a side salad in place of the fries, both items were delicious. My only suggestion, particularly during the colder months, would be to keep the back door by the bar closed (patrons were walking in and out which made the bar area quite chilly to sit at).
