We love lunching at this location. The sushi is outstanding every time. The prices are a bit high but worth the extra cost. Seems to be bustling with activity but not overly loud. Can't wait to return.

I saw this raved about on instagram so had to try it on our last day in Vancouver. B Disappointed overall. Sushi wasn't great. Average really. The raw tuna was also very average . Bit chewy as had skin on. Chicken katsu was nothing special. Service was a bit slow. Brought out the dessert menu and then didn't return so we left without ordering any. booked online for the experience only to find out that it needs 24hrs notice. So just ordered regular menu dishes

There is an A.frican-Am.erican lady who works here as a server; mostly during daytime. Unfortunately she has a condescending unwelcoming attitude which totally makes the visitor feel uncomfortable. She literally acts as if she sees herself above you, and above her job. (and I have been served by her more than once..). She was not even refilling our water glasses, and we had to ask her for it very 'apologetically'...!!Unfortunately the attitude and mannerism of the server makes a huge difference in your experience - especially when you are visiting a supposedly high-end place.I definitely would not like to be served by this server again..

Raw Bar Omakase experience is the best in town. Service and pot of green tea both perfect. Thoughfully curated balanced menu. Each course as delicious as it was beautiful. Definitely be back and highly recommend

I loved the atmosphere here, so I ordered sushi at the counter in the lobby. The seeds were fresh, but for sushi... Korean seaweed was used, so I told them in Japanese that it wouldn't go well with sushi, but I couldn't understand Japanese...I was even more disappointed. .

Have been frequenting for years. I am amazed at the consistency. service has been impeccable since opening. One of our friends’ birthday was a couple of weeks ago and we had gotten her a gift. Without even talking about it or letting server know, Jess had seen the birthday bag and brought her a complimentary desert. How nice is that? How perceptive. Wonderful service, wonderful staff and wonderful cocktails. Thank you Jess!

5 stars across the board. This is one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever tried; pretty much everything on the menu is amazing. Prices are a bit higher than your average high street sushi spot, but the quality is absolutely superior, making it super value for money. A must-try for sure.

I am very disappointed in our experience Saturday, as I had used the reservation link on their website to book the Lunar luncheon as a retirement celebration. Upon arrival, & after ordering drinks, I requested the Lunar menu & was told I needed a reservation. When I explained I had made a reservation the server said they would get the hostess to “look into it”. I then watched as 2 hostesses and 2 men looked at their iPad & looked at me then had a manager come with the iPad to show me I was wrong. I politely said; “I don't care what the iPad says because I booked it in your website, which I showed him, and further said politely; “I am not responsible for your website's mistakes.” He informed me there was no possibility of us having the Lunar luncheon & I had made a mistake. I was very upset, asked him to “Just go away.” My husband paid the bill as I left, too upset to stay. My husband told our server that he was very surprised that noone tried to make it right. She shrugged. We left very unhappy. As an All Accor member who just had a fabulous stay at the Fairmont Empress GoldFloor, I have to say I am not just unhappy but I am shocked that I was made to feel foolish and dumb on what was meant to be a celebratory occasion. Will not return.

Lovely ambience and decor. We had the special Lunar year dim sum, good, however very small portions. Wait person forgot our dessert. We wanted to order something else and were informed that the only Menu available to us was Sushi, and hence, we did not realize that there was a traditional menu that offered.

This place is in the lobby of the Fairmont, and the ambiance is the best part of the experience. We went here to get lunch, and they were playing live music. Overall, it is very modern and boujee. The worst part about this place is the service. The server was not attentive and was very slow in taking our order, getting us drinks/food, and giving us the bill/receipt. The drinks were good but nothing special, especially given the price ($24). The spiced chicken sandwich was the best part of the meal, and I would get this again!

We're staying at the Fairmont and we decided to grab a quick drink and bite here before walking around the city. For drinks, we ordered the port poached pear and harvest peach cocktails. They were okay, nothing amazing and definitely not worth $24 each. Crazy expensive for drinks. For food, we ordered the spiced chicken sandwich to share and we loved it. Very tasty! They also gave us little complimentary snacks - sesame sticks and wasabi covered peas and a trail mix. The service was just okay. Our server was sweet but we didn't see much of her and it was slow. We unfortunately waited awhile for our food to come out and to ask her for the bill. Great ambiance! There's high top tables, regular tables, and lounge seating and it's very modern. We enjoyed the live music which happens from 5-10pm. I personally wouldn't come back here if we weren't staying at the Fairmont. Over $80 for two drinks and one entree but hotel food is always pricier, especially at a nice one, so I get it. But overall great vibe here and convenient if you're staying at this hotel!

Booked Lunar New Year special for 4 people to treat my 91 year old mother and elder sister. Modified the reservation date on the app ( using the "modify" button) and the booking was changed but, unknown to me, the modified booking was automatically made without the Lunar New Year Special. There was no indication on the app that that would happen. When arrived for the meal, I was told that we hadn't booked the LNY special and was told to provide evidence. Manager said that they did not allow booking modification on the app and I should have contacted the restaurant instead ie. it was my fault! No apologies, and we were told that none of the special was available, but would we be ok with food from another restaurant, which we declined. We were then told 4 items were available, which we ordered, alongside other items from the regular menu. The various things did not go well eg brought 3 cookies for 4 people and when asked said they had run out but could be brought from storage if we want (!), dessert took a long time and was not what we ordered when it came (eventually got the right one). No one offered anything to make up for the inconvenience - we had to ask for some credit to the bill. All in all it was very far from a 4-star luxury hotel restaurant service experience, but with the 4-star prices. Generally felt that the whole booking debacle was pushed as our fault until I proved that it was not. And even then, there was no attempt made to redress the mistake, just reiterating that the restaurant did not allow date modification on the app. Spoiled what was to be a special treat for my mother and family. As a regular, this was a very disappointing, hopefully one-off, experience.

Honestly shocked at our server with tattoos and long black hair with bangs, we asked for bill 8:45pm and finally bills settled 9:20pm by waiving down another server and a manager who came to help?? always told “2 second s” when we asked for something and never came back. For a photo she never came back to take one for us but spent like 15 min helping a mixed group of men and women take their photos? Is it because we’re a group of girls so she didn’t like us or something? The service was so bad but drinks were decent
