My friend ordered the Uni, to try something new in life. We were all excited to try the uni, unfortunately the uni looked like my Bowles and was not the orange colour it is supposed to be… as soon as the uni touched my friends tongue he spat it out and threw up on his plate… overall nice

It's definitely one of the better sushi restaurants in town. I like how they have these tables for larger groups that have couchescand pillows

This is an ABSOLUTE JOKE. $18.95 for tuna tataki and this is my portion.

The food was very questionable. There is much better Japanese food in Victoria.

My husband and I were on special Christmas trip to Victoria and late one evening while touring we got so hungry, didn't have energy to find anywhere closer. So we went to this restaurant since we were just around the corner. I really hate to say this and rate low stars, but... their food were just beyond bland, boring and simply TERRIBLE! I'm Japanese, I've eaten Japanese food all my life and I NEVER had such poor and horrible Japanese food like that. I usually try to eat everything to not waste food or not be rude, even if it's not great. But this was simply so bad and I just couldn't. Even I thought their soy sauce was rotten or something... I would highly recommend their chefs to learn how to cook at least decent quality Japanese food as its basically insulting to my heritage for what me and my husband tried to eat and enjoy on our Christmas trip and this basically almost ruined the trip. Yes, it was that bad and pathetic....

Overpriced and not great quality sushi. I'm sticking with Sushi Story in Esquimalt.

We had a notably poor experience with a wait time of 15 minutes before even receiving water, followed by another 20-minute wait to place our order. It took an additional 40 minutes for our food to arrive, only to find that it was incomplete. The menu offered little variety and nothing particularly enticing. Unfortunately, the oysters ordered were not fresh and had to be sent back, and the sushi rice was dry and old. Overall, the service was subpar, and the quality of the food did not justify the high prices. A disappointing visit indeed.

It's a nice restaurant, food took too long to come and was mediocre. Our server was nice but he really was hard to catch and it took him almost 15 min just to come to get our order. Bathroom was nasty. Would not go again.

Most of the critics are accurate from my experience with this restaurant tonight. We came around 7 pm, got settled on the table but table was sticky, carpet was not cleaned. We order some rolls, ramen and appetisers, rolls are inconsistent shape and bland, spicy roll not spicy, it just doesn’t taste fresh in general. Ramen was okay.

Absolutely terrible food, very bland a rubber tuna. Service was also extremely poor and very rude. Avoid this place!

Decided to try this place as its local. Sushi was bland, dry, and overall terrible. Ordered a spicy cone and it was flavourless and not spicy at all. Left lots of leftovers as we only ate a few pieces before deciding to leave. Server did not ask if the food was good or check-in. We paid our bill and decided not to tip as the food and service was not good, this is unusual for us as we always tip. When the receipt printed the server asked about a service tip and we said we’re sorry, but we’re not tipping today. He then aggressively grabbed the receipt off the table and walked away. Avoid this place at all costs, there is way better sushi in Victoria
