Happily stumbled across this family owned (i assume) coffee shop. They were open Christmas Day and I tried my first baked Filipino deserts.The Ube Roll cake (purple cake) was what the kid at the register suggest I try as my a classic Filipino dish and it was extremely good.Great little shop and atmosphere, plus I love how they have a lot of food options to try and expand on what is normal in a coffee shop here in town.

Marcelo's Cafe - 2060 Oak Bay Avenue DISGUSTING!! we had the (grilled) breakfast sandwich (just like their website photo) - this was fried on a greasy grill with stale used oil - couldn't finishing eating it was so disgusting - coffee was weak and tasteless. Outdoor seating was dirty - tables hadn't been cleaned off. Staff stood around doing nothing. Service was slow and lazy. That was early October and we are certainly never going back there. One wonders why there were almost no customers on busy Oak Bay - I guess all the locals know better - since all the other coffee shops and bakeries were packed. Should have trusted our spidey-sense!

What a cozy quiet cafe! A lovely place to have a visit with a friend! Great coffees and all the bakery treats I’ve tried have been yummy! Can’t wait to go back and try some more! The service is wonderful too!!

These people have created a wonderful atmosphere. Their energy is very clean. So glad to see a beautiful people bring their compassion and gentleness to the coffee scene. I found the coffee to be downright good, indeed. Looking at the display of food, it is obvious the quality is there. Thank you for taking the risk, and venturing to bring forth a sound service. I had a great visit, and look forward to my next venture here.

The place was almost empty which is strange since it is a very pleasant interior and a very nice seating area outside. The coffee is good. The service was very pleasant. I had a nice large blueberry scone with my americano coffee. I didn't have to ask for butter or to have it heated. And to top it off, it was very good. It is a place where you can sit and quietly gather your thoughts without the hustle and cavernous echos that you hear in some coffee shops. This was my second time here and I will go back again when I am in Oak Bay. It is a little quiet oasis in the hustle and bustle of the world. Parking can be difficult but the side streets have ample parking.

My sisters and I stopped in for coffee today. The lovely lady who made our coffee had a smile and personality that was so welcoming.I had the best cold mock ever!The patio is amazing as well.
