In my opinion this restaurant thinks it is so much better than it is. 30 min wait to get in I understand. Service was slow but the wait time for the food was totally unacceptable. Over an hour for 2 bowls of soup and 2 breakfasts. Soup was cold when it arrived. Breakfast was clearly preprepped except for the eggs. Potatoes were soggy. The worst part was when one of our group asked for ketchup. ( the beans were bland) and the waiter dripped with sarcasm stated " we are not that kind of restaurant ". Totally unacceptable behavior in the service industry. $100 totally wasted on 2 soup and 2 breakfasts.Don't waste your time or hard-earned $. There are better options out there.

The food was good and healthy, but waiting for food for 1 hour is not worthed. We had to cancel the visit to Butchart Gardens because we had waited so long for food plus the time eating.

Charlotte is our go to place for my friends and I to celebrate each other or simply just because! Michelle and her staff continue to be welcoming, supplying beautiful food and attentive, friendly service. As busy as the restaurant can get , I always feel relaxed and leave feeling content and peaceful ❤️Vegetarian options: I choose to eat vegetarian the majority of my diet and have always found the choices at Charlotte delicious and satisfying!

Stopped in after the ferry ride. Stunning location we had the chicken tikka and the mushroom on toast and soup. The food was good, filling fresh and tasty. Room is nice and simple. Good food, nice service. What is not to like. As for price, without one of their drinks, which everyone was ordering except for us, around $23 per person. Fresh food is not cheap.Vegetarian options: Lots of options

Charlotte & the Quail is a true gem. In a world of hyped up but cookie-cutter "Artisan Bistros", C&Q is different. Reminiscent of a small family run European restaurant; from the moment you walk in to the cosy space, you feel that you can relax and just enjoy your experience. Michelle, Alex and the whole crew work incredibly hard to make sure you feel like you are the only one there! It doesn't take very many visits before you are recognized and start to feel like one of the family. The use of locally sourced, in season ingredients expertly prepared makes one expect much higher prices too! Excellent value and large portions. And rather than a token afterthought offering for those of us who eat Whole Food Plant Based Vegan, such dishes are central to the menu. Definitely our favorite restaurant in town and a real hidden treasure. We are lucky enough to live only ten minutes away, but would easily drive across town to come here. A special little place.Vegetarian options: Lots of whole food plant based vegan optionsDietary restrictions: Lots of whole food plant based vegan options

Quaint setting. Lovely, healthy and tasty food and specialty coffees/lattes. Excellent service. Enjoyed a mid morning breakfast with my husband. Loved the soft poached eggs and sweet potato wedges with cashew hollandaise. Homemade desserts and specialty items like Lionsmane mushroom powder available for sale.
