Decent quality. Tempura was excellent. Sushi nothing special. Somewhat overpriced, probably due to being in Oak Bay. Loved the atmosphere and soothing music.

Popped in here for a quick dinner and found the cutest spot! Great service and even better sushi. The tempura was hot, crispy, and fresh, the rolls were made perfectly and the tea complimented the dinner perfectly. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back :)

Was such a hidden gem under prior ownership. The quality has gone down meaningfully. Won't be coming back unfortunately.

Best/freshest sushi with the warmest owners. We have been coming here forever. They put a lot of effort into quality and we’ve always had amazing service. They also take great care when preparing my order as a celiac making sure to keep things separate and informing me about what’s gluten free on the menu. One of the best in the city for sure. Truly wonderful people! Great prices too.

Simple & generous portion for fish.I wish to have generous salads...I understand everything is expensive these days, though.. thanks to the kitchen.

Coming from Vancouver where there’s no shortage of great sushi places, Kissako really blows it out of the water. High quality and fresh sushi with tasty flavour and beautiful plating. Highly recommend it!

I've unfortunately had to reduce my rating from 5 stars 5 years ago to 2 stars. Took my daughter there recently to dine in on a Thursday for dinner as Bon Sushi was completely full with a 30-45 minute wait. There were no other diners which should have been my first indication although 3-4 pickups came in the hour we were there. First off, we were seated promptly but then told to come up to the counter to order. I was taken aback as that is not what one expects for table service and I could not understand a good reason for that. My daughter ordered her standard fare but could not eat the unusual wakame salad which was spicy and mixed in with green salad. Unusual presentation which I ate and tasted fine but was not what I expected when I ordered it. Miso soup, tamago nigiri was fine and the chopped scallop roll was passable as well (black specs looked like torched which may be considered avant garde but did not meet my standards for attractive presentation) but for $78 for an adult and child with few leftovers I did not feel we got enough value for money in terms of quantity, quality, presentation and service. I doubt I will return under this current ownership iteration.

Pleasant enough place, simple straight forward sushi, with an emphasis on rolls provided by a hard working Korean couple. Not exciting, but not disappointing either.

After a couple of difficult years surviving on take away business, Kissako is back serving the very best, most delicious sushi in their cosy little restaurant. We live in the neighbourhood and our favourites are miso soup, spicy agedashi, seafood salads, nigiri of all kinds, literally all of their rolls, tempura and more. We have tried nearly everything on the menu over the past 5 years and have always felt deeply satisfied.

Cute little sushi spot with tasty food, reasonably priced. And very importantly, fresh and clean. I won't eat raw fish at any Japanese restaurant that had kitchen/fish smell it's a sure sign I will have tummy trouble later. This tiny little restaurant had no smell whatsoever and I could tell from the Chirashi don everything is very fresh.
