I ordered the vegan creamy almond veggie sandwich for takeout. I pick it up and bike home and it's the wrong sandwich. I call to address the issue and they prepare another and say it will be correct. I bike to pick it up and they apologized and ensured it's the correct vegan sandwich. I bike home and it's the wrong sandwich. I finally called and requested a refund. The food is good when they make it right, but I hope they can address their internal processes to avoid similar issues in the future.

Great sandwich joint. Had the curried egg salad sando, was almost too big so saved a half. We also tried the classic veggie and it’s great too. I’m not gf but did have the gf carrot cake and it was slammin’.

I can't stay away from the soups.. I mean sandwiches... I mean salads! Jeez everything is just too good. Paired with nice coffee and great service, there's a reason I keep going back!

The Hot and Cold Cafe is an absolute delight, especially for those who appreciate lovely soups and great hot drinks. Their selection of soups is heartwarming and flavorful, perfect for any day when you need a little comfort. The hot drinks are equally impressive, with each cup prepared with care and expertise. What adds to the charm of this cafe is the ability to sit outside with your dog in the heart of Cook Street. It's a fantastic spot to enjoy some great food while basking in the vibrant street atmosphere. Plus, it's always a bonus to find a pet-friendly eatery where our furry friends are welcome. The service at The Hot and Cold Cafe deserves a special mention too. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant and satisfying visit. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a leisurely meal, or just a great cup of coffee, this cafe ticks all the boxes. Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for a cozy spot with great food and welcoming vibes.

I was really excited to try these sandwiches, but ultimately it just wasn't for me. I ordered the sweet chili chicken and the baked brie half sandwiches. The focaccia was so floppy that the chicken sandwich kept falling apart on me. It's a bread meant to be dipped, not split in two thin slices to hold a whole sandwich, so it had a hard time keeping things supported and together. The slices of chicken in particular were too heavy for it.I also ordered these two choices because it's incredibly hard to find sandwiches without garlicky sauces and/or onions in them, as I can't digest them. Unfortunately the housemade mayo is actually aioli, and I'm going to be paying for it pretty shortly. The heavy use of aioli on an already very oily type of bread was also more than my gut can handle. I had asked for the almond mayo to be swapped, mostly because I also can't digest almonds, but I have no idea if that was registered. With the garlic in it, it's all the same, but it would be nice to have any sort of written or verbal confirmation for online orders if subtle changes like that have been honoured. The focaccia definitely made the sweet chili chicken sandwich a fair bit salty, but the baked brie sandwich was unbearably salty between the salty focaccia and the extra sea salt added inside. The salt overpowered any brie flavour, and the tomatoes offered very little relief. My mouth is pretty sore from just how much salt this sandwich contained. For most people this review might not be relevant, but for anyone else with dietary intolerances or issues with sodium, just be aware.

Shrinkflation hits again!Recently ordered a cup of soup to go and was shocked at how small it is now. Used to be a decent size, now it’s nearly half for the same price. It costs $7.50 plus tax and tip. Maybe eat in portions are more reasonable but with the cost of living I need some bang for my buck.Edit : I do enjoy your food but I strongly disagree with your response. My review reflects my personal experience.
