I did not like the experience because the steak was burnt, the stuffed eggplant lacked taste, it wasn't worth the money, and the staff was passive to my feedback.

Vista 18 has the best view out of all the restaurants on Vancouver Island. Absolutely stunning sun sets, cityscapes and the Olympic Mountains make for an unforgettable evening. Our server was a gentleman named Drew with excellent product knowledge of the restaurants food and wine. Drew was a lot of fun with quick wit and positive energy. We are eager to return for the seared tuna, we will be requesting Drew for laughs and great service.

Special dinner for my wife and I, 50th wedding anniversary, we love staying at the Chateau and thought our last meal at Vista 18 was great !Sadly both our meals tonight were not what we expected, my steak was cooked medium rare and was but very tough and parts were so tough to eat , my wife's chicken and prawn was bland except for the prawns , we did bring it to our servers attention with no reaction on his partSadly we will not be back to Vista 18 except for breakfast and will continue staying at our favorite Chateau Victoria

Vegetarian options: I loathe when places serve alternative milk that curdles in coffee.

We ordered meals when we came here for lunch, and the food was excellent quality and reasonably priced. Also, the personnel is incredibly polite and helpful.

Very, very ordinary. Food was overcooked - I had the fish and crabcakes. Meh. Can't comment on the wine list, as we abstained. Might have helped. Server was lovely but seemed frazzled. Ambiance? Meh. We didn't have a table with a view on the harbour - I imagine those must be lovely. Nothing about the place was above ordinary, and the food wasn't particularly well cooked, or anything special. We had marked this down as a special occasion. Nothing about the evening was particularly special. We were fed. It wasn't horrible. Just... Meh. Won't be back.

Was a disappointment, and won't be back. Was expecting a fine dining experience, but my fish was overcooked, the promised view was disappointing (other tables would be better), and the overall experience was lackluster. It wasn't bad - it just fell short.

We had a wonderful time and our waitress was lively and we had a nice wine. The food was just ok. I had the chicken and shrimp and it's just bland and not what I expected for the price

I have to say, the servers Scott and Juanita really knew their stuff ??. They provided attentive service that was above average, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The view and overall vibe of the place were also really nice, creating a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy our evening. To top it off, the staff surprised us with a cute little birthday cake for my friend, which was a really thoughtful touch. It added a special touch to the dining experience and made the occasion even more memorable.Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food. The steak we ordered was a letdown. We asked for a medium, but it came out well done. That was a big disappointment. We were hoping for a juicy, perfectly cooked steak, but it just didn't deliver. ☹️The squid dish was also underwhelming. It lacked the flavor punch we were expecting. It fell flat and didn't leave a lasting impression. However, I have to give credit where it's due. The batch of oysters we had was a saving grace. They were fresh, flavorful, and really saved the meal from being a total disappointment. We thoroughly enjoyed the oysters and they were definitely the highlight of the dining experience. In conclusion, while the service and ambiance at Vista 18 were great, the food didn't quite live up to expectations. The overcooked steak and lackluster squid were major letdowns. The oysters were the only shining star in an otherwise mediocre culinary experience. Hopefully, the restaurant can work on improving the consistency and execution of their dishes to match the level of service and atmosphere they provide.

Waiters service was excellent. But due to a mix up in kitchen our dinner was delayed. Didn't arrive till 2 1/2 hours from arrival. The waiter offered to comp only 1 drink. We both waited. It would have been better PR to offer at least 2 or the 3 drinks we had. However, probably 3 would have been more appropriate since it was only ordered because the wait was so long and there was none left for dinner.

We had another delicious meal at Vista 18. Wonderful assortment of veggies along with beautifully prepared mains. Very quiet, with few diners during the week compared to the weekend. The staff was participating in “Pink Shirt day” which was appreciated but rather unprofessional looking t-shirts. Our waitress was very attentive. We had a top notch evening.

Biggest disappointment - The steak is overcooked which is a well done instead of a medium. Other food I would say an average. However the servers know what they are doing and the view is stunning. Nice place for a celebration but not nice in terms of food.

We had a late seating but the service and food was very good but the pork offering was a little tough probably as we were at the end of the evening. The view of the night skyline of Victoria is the best we have seen, being on the 18th floor. Efficient and reasonable price for what we received as a dish with beautiful presentation. Very friendly and attentive staff. The last star This is our go to hotel when we go to the opera as season ticket subscribers. Rooms at this hotel offer an opera rate. Private Family owned hotel. Clives lounge is excellent for cocktails before dinner or in the evening. Highly recommended.
