700 More Krispy Krunchy Chickens Coming to America in 2024

While Pollo Campero is planning to add 25 new stores and Bojangles aims to open 20 restaurants in the Phoenix area alone, no chicken chain is expanding quite as aggressively as Krispy Krunchy Chicken in 2024.

If you've been to a convenience store lately, chances are you've seen Krispy Krunchy Chicken serving up its signature Cajun-spiced fried chicken and tenders. The Louisiana-based chain just opened new locations in Show Low, AZ and Port Orchard, WA as part of its rapid expansion across America.

Krispy Krunchy Chicken, which operates quick-service restaurants inside gas stations, truck stops and other retailers, just announced plans for a truly massive expansion in 2024. The brand intends to open approximately 700 brand new locations over the next year.

This makes Krispy Krunchy Chicken one of the largest chicken chains around when it comes to total store count. It already has nearly 3,000 U.S. locations in 47 states after adding close to 500 new units in 2023 alone. With the 2024 expansion, Krispy Krunchy Chicken will soar past 3,500 total restaurants nationwide.

The company hasn't said which exact areas it will open the new locations in. However, CEO Jim Norberg explained that this major expansion comes from the "Core Four" plan. This plan focuses on opening more restaurants, increasing sales at existing ones, improving operations and boosting profits.

"We're expanding to establish ourselves as the best fried chicken brand in the country," Norberg stated, citing recent menu innovations and supply chain improvements as driving momentum.

This is all a part of Krispy Krunchy's vision to continuously improve and set "the standard for serving your favorite fried chicken" while competitors in the chicken space also expand.
