Breakfast was good, service is mediocre. But, I believe most are new to restaurant work. Waitstaff forgot to bring some items out. Asked for another napkin, brought 6 more. Done eating and was brought more napkins. Waiter was very nice. Asked for water refill, was given two new glasses of water. Went for dinner, waitress said something along the lines of, "what do you need?" when taking our order. She walked off. Friend's meal that included potatoes, had one completely raw potato. Door was locked, customers couldn't get in. Friend & I took turns opening door for customers. Informed waitstaff, she didn't seem to care. Upon leaving, I left door ajar for new customers. I'd go back, for breakfast because it's convenient to get to.

Heard great things about breakfast - and we were looking for a new dinner spot to try. Will never be back!! Pink lip/lipstick on the outside of the glass on my son's glass. I wiped it and it came right off. Sent it back. Ordered, and definitely had a language barrier. Asked if they had another salad dressing besides ranch. She went back to the kitchen for a while and came back and said no sorry. Ordered a burger -medium well and asked for no sauce. Asked her if it would be just meat, cheese and bread and she said yes. Well no sauce was right but was loaded with lettuce onion and tomato. Meat was pink in center. Son ordered soup/salad/beeadstick combo. We were all done eating when they brought his soup and no breadsticks. Took it to go and won't be back! . Food was mediocre.

Nice place, just opened. We hope this business grows more in popularity because it's nice, a lot of potential and Alameda needs more places to eat with some variety. We went for breakfast, they had a good sized menu with many options. We had California Benedict and Steak and eggs. California Benedict was good, but came out Luke warm, considering we were the only two in the place, I was surprised. But it was yummy. The Steak and eggs were good too. The steak was very thick and made it difficult to chew, a thinner cut would be better. Still, very good. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The music was a bit of a turn off because they were playing the radio through the speakers. Hearing the commercials and talking from radio host broke into the vibe. The decor was kinda funny, but lots of seating and the lighting was cool. Some simple, cheap tweaks will make a huge difference in vibe. But we read they are keeping the decor from the restaurant before until they get settled. The big tv's showing news was a bit distracting. All in all, good place and did not disappoint. Come check it out and get the new restaurant buzz rolling. By the time we left the restaurant, the crowd was starting to come in.

Where to start... Last night my bf and I decided to try this restaurant. As long time Alamedians, we remember when this place was a Sizzler back in the 80's and 90's. When we went in, another couple was exiting and gave us a "good luck" glance in passing. The restaurant was covered in decor from Shell Shock, the previous restaurant that was at this location. Crabs, fishing nets, a giant shark on the ceiling. It reminded me of that pirate restaurant that John Candy ate at in the 1985 movie "Summer Rental." (Side note -- If you haven't seen it, watch it. It's hilarious!) The hostess was very friendly and sat us as a table by the window. She quickly cleared away extra place settings, as it was just my bf and I. He noticed that one of the coffee mugs had lipstick still on it. Thr hostess asked us what we wanted to drink, so we both said Diet Coke. She came back a few minutes later and said that they didn't have any Diet Coke. We ended up asking for iced tea. (On a side note, don't ask for a refill -- you literally have to purchase another drink. No refills allowed!) While we went over the 6 page menu, we decided what we wanted. When I let the server know I wanted a grilled chicken sandwich, she said no and that they were only available for lunch. Okayyy...I decided on the California Club sandwich with fries. While we waited for our food they brought out a plate of sliced baguette and butter. Pretty good! My bf had ordered a burger which came with fries and a soup. He had the clam chowder. He said it tasted like it came from a tin can. He eats clam chowder often, so he definitely knows the difference. He said the burger was okay. My sandwich was okay, too. I'm still wondering why they put a garlic aioli on it. It was odd. Also, I thought club sandwiches have bacon? They use ham. I probably won't order that sandwich, if for some reason we decide to go to that restaurant again. The fries were pretty good, though. While eating we could hear the cook sneezing in the kitchen. The restaurant also remained virtually empty almost the entire time we were there. Two other people were eating at other tables. We did watch a family of 4 come in, glance at the menu, and then leave. Honestly, we probably won't be back, but at least we could say we tried this place. My bf and I spent the evening going "huh" and talking about the odd experience.

So so disappointed today with our orders. Its my 3rd time visiting this place today and its really frustrating. Bet 2-2:30pm we ordered two steaks (medium rare) but the meat isnt so tender :(( had a hard time cutting through it, chewing it, no feeling of "melts in your mouth" and didnt even finish it. We provided feedback and was hoping that our to go steak would be better but sadly, its the same. We cant just eat it. Fried steak- tasted and looked like it was just heated in the microwave. I guess the food was only great during the first week of their opening? The owner - kind of a snob when we left the place I dont know what else to say. We went there to celebrate but the food killed our mood. Sorry to say, but we were really dissatisfied with the food we had. We really felt we wasted money today :(

My mom sister and love going out for breakfast and we found this new spot on the west end of Alameda. The ambiance is family friendly and a lot of nice decorations on the walls and fresh flowers on all the tables. Our server was great she spoke Spanish so I didn't have to translate for my moms order and she was super nice and friendly. The coffee is OK just wish they had a flavored creamer other than that the food was delishious. I hot the bacon an eggs and hash browns with toast. My bacon was good hash browns Hella good and my eggs delishious. My sister got the steak and eggs and she absolutely loved it. She gave it a 10/10 and she knows her steaks. Usually she asks for A1 shr said this time she didn't need it. My mom got California club and she saved about it. She was it a 8/10 hef sandwich had turkey avocado on healthy rye bread. With well seasoned fries a little too seasoned for my moms liking but I thought they were good. Ovef all a great time and definitely will come back to try the pancakes and other items we saw.

Love the vegetable scramble. I change a few things tho....Switch the hash browns to country potatoes, also regular egg scrambled instead of egg whites. Add a side of hollandaise sauce on the side. Yummy.

I was on the Webster Street side and knew that Shell Shock sushi had changed hands. I tried it with some friends for breakfast. There was only one other couple in the whole place. The decor is still goofy and strange, the booths still slide around because they aren't nailed to the floor, the waiter was awkward and slow, and the place is still freezing cold. But the one star is based solely on the food service. We all tasted each other's food and here is what we found: - the corned beef hash comes straight out of a can. I would rather go to Jim's where they make their corned beef from real corned beef - the prices are super expensive for nothing special - the country potatoes are covered in weird oil and strange spices that don't taste good - none of us ate ours - the benedicts were served on untoasted english muffins - we were there for over an hour and only offered one refill of coffee - the pancakes were gummy - they do not serve real maple syrup! How is that possible for these exorbitant prices??? I know the owner used to run a successful hotpot place. Why not do hotpot in Alameda? His other business is a gas station. He doesn't know American style classic breakfast, and that is okay. Please do hotpot instead!! For value in Alameda, go to Jim's. If you want something special on Webster, go to WesCafe, which is a family owned business and they make tastier breakfast from scratch. So many of these five star reviews are gushing about the PARKING. That should tell you something LOL

I came here late morning on a Sunday. It was busy, but there is lots of seating so I was seated right away and was poured a cup of coffee. I interacted with 3 different staff members and each of them were friendly and attentive. I liked that they kept the decor from the previous restaurant - fun seafood vibe. No need to waste all that stuff. I ordered the veggie scramble and did the toast to pancake upgrade. Whatever you order make sure you do this upgrade. $2.50 gets you a large pancake any style. I chose the banana, nut, coconut pancake. It was delicious - light and fluffy with a little crunch from the macadamia nuts. The scramble was excellent as well. Egg whites scrambled nicely; mushrooms, asparagus, peppers, green onion sautéed to just tender. On perfectly cooked hash browns with cheese and sour cream. The portion is pretty big. I can usually eat a lot but only got maybe 2/3 done. I was happy to take home enough for a snack or small meal. I will be back (at least to try the other pancakes).

Great atmosphere with about 15 window booths. Great food, crispy hash browns, friendly staff. A great new brunch option - also nice outside seating with umbrellas x

Came here to eat brunch on Friday, and ordered steak and eggs, cooked to medium and scrambled eggs. Asked for no potato's, but still received potato's. Steak came out and it was cooked to well done. (waited 35 minutes for my dish, there is 4 tables as 2 tops, it wasn't busy.) eggs came out cold. The Wife ordered their tri-tip Benedict, and asked for no English Muffin but it was still on the plate. She enjoyed the Benedict, but the tri-tip was cold but flavorful. Seems like server to kitchen communication is not there at all. Management just stood at the counter and looked at our table. No apology, won't come back. Don't waste your time coming to this establishment.

I went to Cape 7 Cafe in Alameda island on the first week they opened and ordered Joe's Special (Scrambled Eggs with Spinach, Beef, and Mushrooms), but an omelette instead of scrambled eggs, without hash browns or toast.A month later, I came back and ordered a same Joe's Special and it turned out consistently. The taste of sauteed grounded beef, with crispy mushrooms, lightly sauteed spinach and onions were so delicious.Beautiful decorations of fruit cup with slices of strawberry, honeydew melon, cantaloupe melon, blue berries, pineapple.Chef Louis came from Original Joe's restaurant in Daily City. The menu has added more items and looks much better.

Hooray! We found a new breakfast place... big and spacious, excellent menu, generous portions, a perfect experience! Chef's kiss... friendly and unfussy service. It was a real treat, we're coming back for more very soon!

We had breakfast at Cape 7 today and it was delicious & affordable. The eggs, bacon & hash browns were cooked to perfection. We also were able to sit outside with our dog - an added bonus! Service was good!
