3.5 stars Came around Sat 1pm for party of 4. No wait, sat down immediately. Still got the ladies pushing the dimsum carts! Appreciated the picture menu with the dimsum selection, can also order specialty items like fried rice and noodles Food: Classics like chicken feet, hargow, shaomai, chive and shrimp dumplings on point. Sesame ball had lotus seed filling which was different from traditional red bean filling. Xiao long bao is not recommended (taste like frozen Costco ones) but our fault for ordering a dish that's not specialty at a dimsum restaurant, sigh. Beef in beef rice noodle was off. I expected ground beef pieces but it was mixed with cornstarch or flour to be a lump. Better to stick to classic shrimp rice noodle. Price: $6.95 for medium item, $7.95 for large. Seems to be standard pricing for sit down dimsum restaurants these days...Bill with tax and tip came out to $30/pp. Ambiance: large banquet hall (easily sit 20 ten seater tables) thag looks recently renovated, with bar area upon entering, vinyl flooring, fresh paint. Parking is difficult. Small lot in back, metered parking in front and free residential parking if you're willing to walk a bit.

Good variety of dimsun! We went right before they opened and got a big table for 10 people. This was our third time dinning at this place. Price was reasonable, and food was consistent, no surprises. Parking was also convenient, if you go early enough you can get street parking, or park in their parking lot on the side of the building. Looking forward to coming back again!

The last time I dined in for Dim Sum was in 2013 and prior to that we dined in weekly during the weekend for lunch or dinner. The place appeared to have been renovated since my last visit. Price has gone up post pandemic but it is competitive to local offerings. The Dim Sum was fresh and did not appear reheated for a Tuesday morning. As for seasoning I found it on the lighter side and nothing was overly tenderized. Service is still spot on as always.

Lunch special Mongolian beef with BBQ pork fried rice, beef didn't have that Mongolian flavor of spice it usually does elsewhere and the rice was pretty flavorless. If I come back it will only be for salt and pepper wings but at $19 it won't be anytime soon. I think their fried crab is excellent based on photos so may be that's great. Price was fair for lunch special though and orange was fresh

Dim Sum: Steamed Pork & Shrimp Sui Mai were luke warm; Shanghai Dumpling top layer skin was dry and tough; Deep Fried Taro Meat Dumpling - fillings was cold ( yuck) Happy with: Steamed Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean, chinese broccoli, Jelly Fish. Cancelled Steamed Seafood & Pork Wrapped w/ Bean Curd Skin - too long a wait.

Came back here after a loooong time and found the place totally overhauled. Nice new decor, clean floors and a new full bar plus sushi bar. I guess they are catering towards a younger, hipper clientele now, they even offer mimosas during brunch service (on a dim sum cart, very cute). The dim sum on the weekends seems to be the same: good, solid food. The prices are on the higher end (we paid about $60 including tip for two adults with mediocre appetite) but the food quality is worth it. The service has improved as well and I haven't been yelled at during this visit :-D.

Overpriced for such small food. Went there with my mom and the total was $90 for 2. The proportions are so small and they don't even take your order, they walk around with a cart of food telling you to get it. The food itself is okay. The shumai is good but the greens absolutely suck. The sauce is gross. The egg tarts are okay. The duck came out cold. The xio long bao or soup dumplings or pork dumplings sucked. The honey walnut shrimp are okay. Everything is just okay but for $12 for a small bowl (the size of a baseball in comparison) is just outrageous.

5 stars and above. This restaurant has the VERY BEST CHINESE FOOD IN CALIFORNIA? Always fresh, fast service and the very best cooks around. Look no further, East Ocean Seafood Restaurant in Alameda is the finest restaurant around. I've eaten in the restaurant, delivery and take out, it's always hot and fresh, plus their customer service is beyond satisfactory.
