Been here twice, was good both times. The main draw of this place is the good value, especially with food becoming ever more expensive. The katsu curry served here is about $3 cheaper than I find at most other Japanese places for similar quality and quantity.

Visited this restaurant as I was looking for a good Japanese curry eatery while in Alameda, the menu has a good amount of selections from appetizers to mains. I ordered a tonkatsu curry bowl, the katsu was on point, meat was tender and hearty in portion, good to share if you want a light meal but plentiful for a serving. The curry for me was on the lighter side, I prefer it a bit more darker and bold in flavor, it is what I am used to. I look forward to trying a different dish next time. But overall, this place has a nice vibe to it, Daniel was great and super hospitable.

First off, big kudos to the manager Daniel for giving us his recommendations as our first choice for breakfast was busy as hell. Turned out some Katsu Curry was what the doctor ordered! The pork was super tender and the breading maintained its texture even under all that yummy curry sauce. We even got the sample a takoyaki, which are these little fried balls of squid served with this amazing sauce, topped with nori and bonino flakes... And they were just utterly to die for; super light, crispy, and full of freshness. It's may be a little bit spendy, but its definitely worth it!

From the moment you walk in the door, the vibe is welcoming and chill. I ordered the katsu curry don and it fulfilled my craving! Danny, the manager, took good care of me and all the customers present. Good food, good service, good people.

Sucks, tried to come here twice always closed. Note says back from break at 330pm, it's 1156am, they open at 1130am...go walnut creek, that location is awesome!!!

Came in here on a Saturday afternoon after visiting Oakland, the store is clean and well designed. It was pretty quiet that day so we had most of the restaurant to itself. So what you do is you order your item first, then they bring it out to you. The service itself was pretty fast, you'll get your items quickly. Only downfall would be the taste of the food. We had the chicken appetizer, unagi bowl and miso soup. Chicken didn't have much flavor to it besides the sweetened soy sauce and the unagi bowl gave me the runs for a couple of days. In eating it, it was ok. But I think we should have gone with their curry or their udon noodles instead. We might come back again, but we're not too sure about it.

I came here some years ago and my card declined while with a group of friends. The gentlemen behind the counter gave me the meal anyways. I will never forget that. When I go, I make sure to leave a $20 tip because of how generous he was in my time of need. Thank You sir.

Went there this evening and the sign at the desk said "takeout only". The guy behind the counter said that it was the decision of the manager/owner. No update on their Google page. I went there for the ambiance that I have experienced in the past. It was disappointing and annoying . I left without ordering any food.

The food is just okay which is pretty disappointing considering how lovely the interior of the restaurant is. The chicken katsu don curry bowl wasn't very flavorful.

Was really craving Udon soup and this is what I got. Just noodles in broth. Literally nothing else not even a single green onion or veggie to be found. Broth was tasty but overall just poor effort. I would like to try other items on the menu , but I wouldn't waste my time with the "udon soup" again.

I ordered food prior to the listed close time on the website and the order goes through and I come to pick up the order but the restaurant is closed! there was no update on the website or on the front door, the lights were turned off and the open signed was also off! how do you do this to your customers, better yet why did the order even go through in the first place. shouldn't the app stop working once the place is closed? I am just super disappointed and upset that they took my money. never again

Updated review. Here for lunch at noon on a Thursday. We ordered a Ten Don (tempura and rice) and a stir fry Udon with added chicken. The tempura order was huge and just fried so it was very hot. The stir fry udon was very delicious with just enough sauce.

Traditional Japanese fare. I was surprised to see unagi on the menu… that says a lot about the quality of their kitchen as sea urchin gets spoiled very quickly and requires a lot of high maintenance to remain fresh. I didn’t try it myself, but the chicken donburi and takoyako were both very good. I also tried the imported Citrus drink that was also tasty. I don’t know if it was my mind, but the rice seemed to have some sort of very slight lavender aftertaste to it which was …interesting …overall good experience.
