I've been to Macondo a few times, and have loved the food every time. We decided to do a bulk order for my daughter's 2nd birthday, as the hand-held nature of the food and delicious flavors seemed like it would be a fun and easy option. Constanza (who I believe is the owner) was very accommodating and easy to work with. We ordered an array of baked and fried empanadas, several different arepas, and salad. I love that the vegetarian options still have a ton of texture and flavor. One of our guests stated that it was the best toddler party food they had every eaten :)The party was a few days ago, and I've already been back for some more empanadas! My favorites:- baked beef+potato empanada- fried birria empanada- bahn mi arepa- colombianisima arepa- Macondo saladVegetarian options: The salads are delicious and vegetarian, along with tasty options such as the mushroom empanada, veggie arepa, and tofu arepa.

Incredible food. I ordered online and it came hot and fresh. Got many different things and they were all artfully done, full of flavor and integrity. I could feel the love

Cut and pasted from their website: "Macondo is a fictional town described in Gabriel García Márquez's novel, One Hundred Years of Solitude." "The yellow butterflies of our logo appear in the novel "Cien años de Soledad" (Hundred Years of Solitude)." Quality/Quantity - The quality of the food is 5 stars. The quantity is 4 stars. Pulled Pork BBQ Arepa - One of their best sellers and it did not fail. Perfect blend of pork and cabbage, etc. Quesabirria Arepa - This was good also, but needed way more sauce. At minimum, two sauces. I know this is fusion, but I am used to dipping birrias. Also, the pickled carrots were a very nice touch and with good flavors. Mushroom Empanada - My daughter's and mine's favorite, especially with their sauce. Chicken Empanada - Our least favorite. But again, the sauce is/was amazing! I can put this sauce on everything. Both empanadas were good, just too small. Am I being greedy? These are baked? Tasted and looked deep fried. Simple menu done well. Atmosphere - Even with GPS, it is not easy to find. It might have been me, or the rain, or a busy Webster street? But once I parked, I found the place easily by walking. If the city allows, can I suggest bigger and more signage? Very small take out business. Simple, nice decor, see pictures. Street parking, metered right in front, and free residential parking around the corner. Small display, but missing signage. I would/might have liked to try a few items, if I had known what they were. I might have made a few impulse purchases...? See pictures. Small open kitchen. Bench seating inside and outside for waiting. It was raining today, so I chose to stay indoors. Service - Good. I shared that I was a first time customer and asked for suggestions. She answered the question, but it was not a suggestive sell, so I asked for a few more minutes to read and study the entire menu. Price - $27, I was worried it was not enough food after I saw the size of the empanadas. But because we are light eaters, it was just enough. FYI - Pricing on your website is outdated, please update or take off the prices. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2022. Why did it take me so long to discover you?

We are ethnically challenged when it comes to Colombian food, so to save ourselves the embarrassment, we placed the order online for pickup. It was a good thing we did since this isn't really a "dine in" type of restaurant, but more of a "hole in the wall." We ordered the chicken empanada and four types of arepas. We loved the empanada and our favorite arepa was maite. Will definitely return to support this local business with friendly service and great food!

I ordered and paid for consumme with my order and it was not given to me in my order. When I returned the cook looked directly at me and yelled at me, QUE CONSUMME, QUE CONSUMME???!!! IT DOESN'T COME WITH YOUR ORDER! VERY LOUD AND RUDELY. I am a grandmother and was nothing but polite. The cashier had sold me consumme. The cook was horrible! The food was just mediocre. The eggs oily, and they were out of chicken that I originally ordered.

As a Colombian, I can confidently say, after taking a bite out of the Colombianisima and the guava plantains, I was back home in my grandmothers, my mothers, and my tias kitchen ALL at once I will forever come here now. The best Colombian comforts foods I have ever had in the bay.Add plantain and cheese to your Colombianisima. Get the guanábana juice, AND to finish it off… I died and came back more colombiana after the Arepa De Choclo I had… with cheese and condensed milk, yeah, I said it condensed milk. It ain’t a real thing without the condensed milk. Ikyky.Staff was awesome! Wish the had tables! Please don’t come here, I want this to be my home away from home food spot! ??Please enjoy this amazing arepa video!Parking: It’s alameda m, hard to find.Kid-friendliness: Yes!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.
