Went here for takeout dinner--many choices, all tasty--and found an Indian grocery to rival Santos Spice Products. I mean, it's smaller, but they have filled every spot with something. They even sell little cones of henna, ready to use on your hands and feet! Also very friendly.

Food is great, folks are amazing. The proprietors are just wonderful, super invested in community. I come to alameda just for this!! Can't wait to try their malai kofta

An Indian market, a liquor store and a restaurant? What? You walk in and immediately smell all the spices from the kitchen. Everything looks really good. We ordered a 2 entree combo meal and the mixed veggie samosas. They give you large portions and it was more than enough for 2 people. The veggie samosa is by far the best samosa I've ever had! The crust was light and flaky, the veggies were full of flavor and I'm definitely coming back for more of these! They have a variety of vegetarian and meat options, including lamb. We ordered the eggplant curry and the potato and green bean. The combo meal came with/ rice, naan and lassi. They have seatings outside and inside the building. It was a windy day so we had our lunch indoor. Everything was delicious, better than most Indian restaurants I've been to. The naan was soft and buttery and I'm already thinking about when to come back. I'm so glad we stopped here and discovered this gem.

So glad to find good Indian food in Alameda. I order the 2 item special and it's a ton of food at a really reasonable price. Always looking for a lunch spot so this is added to our list.

The individual at the check-in encounter was exceedingly impolite. I had called just 15 minutes prior, and it turned out to be the same person who had confirmed the availability of the chai over the phone. However, upon arrival, he abruptly claimed it was unavailable, despite initially stating it was. Even after insisting that they could prepare another cup, he remained adamant. When I inquired about the owner, he mentioned that the owner was also unavailable. I can't help but feel that due to this being the only Indian store around, they exhibit a sense of entitlement. Additionally, they seem to arbitrarily set prices for items. I have no intention of returning there again. And the person in question is a regular person who is there at the counter.

Hidden gem for local indian foods. The steamer counter is so tasty! Get their chai it's wonderful especially on a rainy day.

Wanted to pick up some kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves) for a recipe, which brought me in. Staff is friendly and helpful. I bought a couple (mix veg) Samosa on a whim for a snack when I got home and these are the BEST samosa I’ve ever eaten in my life. I really want to come back for lunch/dinner at some point, absolutely delicious food.

Walked by this store all the time and did not realize they had food made for take out or picnic dine in. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was so amazing. A good spot to go to when you are craving good Indian to go without the Restaurant prices.

Great convenience store with unique finds. A bit cluttered with items towering over you as you walk through. Seems like they're trying to fit a lot of stuff into a small space. I wanted to love the food so bad but the flavors were just missing it for me. Both items were sour and inedible. Naan was light and fluffy. Samosa were very tasty. Staff were very helpful. Glad to have a store in town where I can find items to cook Indian dishes. Will visit again for the samosa but will probably pass on the hot food items.

Love this local Indian spot in Alameda! I ordered catering from them for my birthday party this weekend and everyone said they loved the food. They also had vegan options which was very helpful. The folks who work there are very kind and gave great customer service. Special thanks to Vicku for organizing and offering suggestions!

They have the best vegetable samosas! Delicious and crunchy. Other items we order include their combo meals. I get chicken tikka masala, chickpea side, rice, and naan. We've also ordered food when we are at Lemon Drop next door. The service is super friendly. Highly recommend.

Very good Indian take out counter. Lovely selection of Indian foods. The owner and their family is delightful. Recommend taking a few samosas to go and stopping by the bar next door. Great set up!
