Girls working were less than enthused to say the least. Each person received their food separately which didn't make for a great meal together! Food was good as usual, but the experience was lacking. Never asked if things were ok and had to get up for a drink refill! Seemed annoyed to be asked to do their job.

My daughters and I had a birthday celebration dinner at Barney's yesterday. This was the first time I have eaten at a restaurant since the beginning of the pandemic so it was wonderful to have outdoor seating because I felt very comfortable. I would really like to commend the waitstaff. They were incredibly nice and so attentive! I worked in the hospitality industry before the pandemic, and I know how important it is to provide great customer service. The food was excellent. We ordered Cobb salads, three different types of fries and I enjoyed a salmon burger. My daughter had a great hamburger. I also appreciate the fact that takeout boxes are provided because we ordered more than we could eat at one sitting. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday celebration so epic. I won't let another four years pass before I visit Barney's again.

The service here is abysmal, as is their attitude toward customers after they have made mistakes. I've been a longtime customer & they continue to forget items when picking up or getting delivery. The icing on the cake was the person I was speaking with refused to provide his name when requested and then had the call to HANG UP on me! Unbelievingly unprofessional & beyond unacceptable. I will be calling the manager tomorrow, although I do not expect much at this point, considering their awful history! It's definitely my fault for going back & thinking they would improve. There food isn't even that great. I will not be eating there again!

My recent visit to Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers on Solano Avenue in Berkeley, CA, was disappointing. I ordered the Beet Salad, substituted salmon for chicken, and added an extra portion of salmon for an additional $6.50. The food was underwhelming, considering the total bill for two salads and two Diet Cokes came to $63.50 with tax and tip. To my dismay, the "salmon" was not the fresh fillets I expected and had become accustomed to at other establishments, but rather cheap salmon burger patties. This was not specified on the menu, leaving me feeling deceived and disappointed. Although I sympathize with the economic challenges faced by restaurants, the meal simply provided bad value for the cost. While Barney's may offer excellent burgers, fries, and shakes, its salads have noticeably deteriorated in quality compared to years past. Patrons looking for salads should prepare one at home or try another establishment.

Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers is a classic spot on Solano Ave. in Berkeley, with other locations throughout the Bay Area and just learned throughout LA too! I've been coming to Barney's for as long as I can remember ~ a very nostalgic spot known for their juicy burgers, creamy milkshakes, hearty salads, crispy beer battered onion rings/veggie basket, steak fries, curly fries, and more. Their menu has def. evolved over the years adding elevated hot dogs, chicken/fish sandwiches, sweet potato fries, pickle chips, and pretzel buns to name a few to the mix. If I'm not sticking to something classic, I do love their Falafel Salad (romaine, housemade falafel, artichoke hearts, cucumber, tomato, feta & vinaigrette) or as a Pita (house-made falafel, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, feta & tahini sauce, in a whole wheat pita). They have a dynamite 1000 Island sauce they bring for their burgers/sandwiches, which I always ask for a couple of sides of..this in my memory came before the In N' Out sauce so always have to have ample amounts, ha! The blackberry shake is my jam ~ they have a variety of flavors like Oreo or Turkish Coffee, but this one is too unique to pass up! With menu options for all parties from kiddos to those on a health kick, ample parking, friendly service, and indoor/outdoor seating, Barney's is a pretty solid spot to grab your next burger fix n' fries.

After happily patronizing Barney’s 3 East Bay locations since 1988, I finally decided to write a review. There is no other place in the East Bay with a better selection of burgers. My favorite is the Voodoo burger, served medium rare and piled high with blue cheese, applewood smoked bacon, melted provolone and a generous portion of perfectly sautéed mushrooms that spill over the brioche bun onto the plate. The meat is of high quality and cooked perfectly to order. Sweet potato fries are excellent and the mocha milk shake is exceptionally tasty, infused with real coffee grounds that sets it apart from any mocha shake I’ve ever tasted. Each Barney’s location has a hidden patio in the back with plants and greenery. Think of it as an oasis for escaping the busy streets. So why has it taken me so long to write a review? Well for one, Google didn’t exist when I first started patronizing Barney’s. Second, I’m selfish and wanted to keep the patios to myself. Yes I’ve tried a few of their other burgers but they don’t hit the spot and do not warrant my 5 stars. Pro tip: request some chipotle aioli sauce on the side for dipping your fries. So why no pictures as with all my other reviews? When the burger arrives I dig into it so quickly and voraciously the last thing on my mind is reaching for the camera, now replaced by a smart phone. Go do that voodoo that I do and head to Barney’s today.
Incredibly delicious. Gastropub Burger was interesting and cooked great. Patty and Bacon had a wonderful smokey flavor. Egg was not overcooked, so the yolk flowed like an egg should on a sandwich.BlackBerry milkshake was great, and they give you the container too so it's a very generous serving. Loved having whole blackberries in there that were good level of riped.Curly fries were great. Very crunchy and flavorful. Best curly fries I've had yet.Very fast service too! Granted we came in on a Thursday night, but it was about 10 minutes to get our food.

Thank you so much!! I really enjoyed the fresh food here and the fantastic service. As a person in the restaurant industry for almost 2 decades I can be a bit high maintenance. My server, Samantha, was truly kind, gracious and concerned about me being comfortable. I honestly have not had such great service in a long time. If you want to be treated like a valued human, definitely stop in at this Barneys and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and kind service. The entire staff wasgreat. .

I miss coming here for great burgers it been several years since i last enjoyed their delicious juicy burgers . It's still great burgers and fries, but my favorite is the shakes! The Turkish coffee shake is so good, and when they give you the shake in the metal mixing cup, it's everything! I walked in and was quickly helped by Paloma she was friendly and helpful, and the customer service was excellent.
