Many legends start with a tree. Isaac Newton formulated his gravitational theory under an apple tree. In Norse mythology, an ash tree Yggdrasil contains the entire universe. And now Ferment and Flora. There is a stunning fig leaf tree at the entrance. Under its canopy, an apple cider starts a new legend, where you end up buying more cider to go, because it’s cosmically delicious.

First time visiting and it was perfect! Kate was so pleasant and lovely. She was nice enough to indulge me and set up the Warriors game on their "menu" TV since they were literally in the middle of replacing one of their screens. The cider/seltzer selection is amazing and affordable! Big fan of the minimalist vibe. The ambiance is chill and earthy. I love the greenery. The music was A+. I will definitely be returning to give them more of my money

Came here on a Friday afternoon with my dog to finish off the work day. There was free WiFi, great cider and beer selection, and they also sell a few plants and other local items like cute wool coasters. Friendly service and overall great vibe, can't wait to come again!

Plant-parent aesthetics with indoor balcony/upper level seating (perf for people-watchers) and an elevated vibe. Get your cider fix here! There aren't too many cideries or meaderies up here in Albany, so Flora & Ferment is a welcome haven for those who partake. My friend loves ciders, so I came with in full support as a beer gal myself. LOVE that Flora & Ferment support local communities, they host fun events like queer trivia night and pumpkin painting in their cidery taproom space, and allow dogs and kids. We love inclusive spaces. There is ample street parking, and their taproom is spacious with a super elevated ceiling so you feel like there's no need to fight for space. The seating arrangements/quality of furniture give West Elm and Wayfair energy, and the color palettes plus the racks of bottles of ciders for purchase give so much class (way more than breweries) to this space without the snobbery that you often see in urban wineries. The gal behind the bar seemed to be the owner, and she was friendly but quiet. We came on our day off on a weekday, so the space was quite empty save for a few other midday beverage enthusiasts. Love that they offer flights, which come in a set of seven. I couldn't say I had a favorite cider, but I did enjoy the option to try all of the ciders on tap. They also sell little bagged savory snacks, and have a refrigerated section of cold ones you can take home if you feel so inclined. Such a calm, inviting, and well-curated space.

My guy loves a cider and I'm happy to support the cause so when I crossed paths with this cute lil cider shop I put it on the list. Really charming space, reasonable pricing, and some informed recommendations for both what they were pouring onsite and for takeaway. No food/snacks (though I saw another client get delivery from Everest next door on actual plates!)

Our go to place when we get out to have a drink. We always meet cool people and start chatting. Everyone is friendly and the ciders are so fun to taste. Love that we can bring our dog too.

Fantastic selection of (mostly local) ciders, kombucha, and gluten free beer. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Dogs and outside food are welcome!

I had been wanting to try the ciders here ever since I passed by the place on my way to get cashew icecream down Solano. This cute little place is such a neighborhood gem. I took my parents here on a quiet Friday on my day off. We tried a bunch of drinks here, including 6 ciders and 1 beer. For die-hard traditional beer lovers like my dad, you may not like the beer here. But for sweet drink lovers like my mom and I, we had fun trying the different ciders. I really like #6 on the menu, sweet and citrusy. I did not like #8 the spicy mangy cider. I enjoyed my time here. 1 star off because there's a lot of flies flying near our seats by the window (fruit flies maybe?), they just be attracted to the smell of these delicious ciders. Service was wonderful. The gentlemen working there was super friendly and patient and helpful. He gave good recommendations.

I love coming here. There is a very large selection of ciders (mainly from California), with some beer, hard seltzer and hard kombucha options. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and offer great recommendations.I appreciate the bottle of hand sanitizer available near the register, and having an always clean bathroom. They offer some snacks but they are okay with bringing takeout from other places. It is also very dog friendy which is another plus.

Winner winner chicken dinner. This place is amazing. Entering this business, I couldn't understand why it wasn't packed wall to wall. The tasteful decorations, and not overcrowded. Lush places to sit, and a selection of ciders, I don't think i've ever seen anywhere. So comfy. This place is totally gorgeous. I have to bring my wife here because this is definitely the place to go on a date night. And for those of you who have dogs, it's pet friendly. I do have to say right off the bat because they only have cider, beer, and wine that you will need to be over twenty-one years of age to come in. They do ID.Kate, the owner, was so informative and welcoming. This owner-manager is a cider expert in my world. She studies her product and production and is always curious while learning about her product. She listened to my taste profiles and built the perfect flight for tasting. Cold tapsn with bottles and cans to go.Bonus Tip. If you are a people watcher, there is an elevated seating area upstairs in the back. I almost missed it. Fun place.I had the Lassen Traditional Cidery Irvine Orchard Dry, the Two Broads Cider Works Spitsy Mumu, and my fave ... Far West Cider Parlez Vous Grapefruit. A little cider education for you that will help you at this location. If you can tell Kate what your tastes are, whether you want acidic, dry, Appley, or fruity, then she can direct you to the proper cider. If I had to vote, I would say this is the best cider house that doesn't produce a product at this time that I've ever been to in the SF Bay Area. Will I come back ... yes ... and I will bring friends. Here's a tip. Would you like to step out of your comfort zone and try something unique? Try the Modern Day Meadery Hot for Peacher. Completely unique with hints of jalapeno, peach, and a Mead wine made from honey, and it's not sweet.

Great place! The cider is tasty and the interior is very welcoming with lots of plants and good music. The cute bartender with a mustache is really sweet and has great cider recommendations. Kate is awesome too, very welcoming!

Drinks and service were good.Biggest turn off was how dirty the place is. Big picture it looks nice and clean. Once you're inside, you can see some pretty dirty windows, lots of spider webs, and dead bugs on the window sill. Bunch if flies everywhere. Didn't really enjoy my time there

P E R F E C T. Always new local & PNW ciders (& beer) on tap & to go. Make this part of your regular rotation! Such a treat whether you're solo or looking to impress!

Love Flora & Ferment... And I'm not even a big cider fan. Great atmosphere and the folks running it are super friendly and know their cider (and kombucha, mead, and beer which they have on tap as well). Very dog friendly too.We typically order food from one of the baby restaurants nearby (chili momo from Everest Kitchen next door is a favorite)

Mead, ciders, sours, IPAs, nice selection. I’ve only bought to-go from here but plan to sit and have some hot mulled cider one of these rainy afternoons.
