This is my very favorite place to eat in the Bay Area. My husband and I always feel like we are absolute criminals when we eat here because we don't believe there can actually be food this good. Everything is perfect in this place, from the drinks, to the apps, to the coffee at the end of the meal. Definitely eat here. When you are done and on the way home, you will feel thrilled and victorious like you have stolen your own car!

The pinnacle of dining in the East Bay. I mean if it was just their cocktail menu that was as good as it is and everything else was just meh it would still be worth it just for that level of awesome, but after the cocktails everything else just keeps getting *better*.

Went there for my birthday celebration with my boyfriend. We didn’t have a reservation but still got a nice window table. I liked the salad very much.

The menu is not balanced. The food is thoughtful, but rich with sauces, cheese, butter, etc...Nothing is offered to balance that heavy and rich food with a light and pallet cleansing food. The salad is tossed with lots of cheese. Perhaps, a simple salad with a vinagrette would be nice to add to the menu. The deserts are also thoughtful, but too sweet. The prices are similar and at times higher than Chez Panisse. Our waiter refused to bring one slice of bread to finish an entree and instead offered to order a plate of bread with 4 slices. That was disappointing! We spent over $300 on our meal for three people and could not get one slice of bread!? If you want to pay that prices they charge here, I would recommed go to Chez Panisse for a consistent and balanced experience,!

Went there with my husband for dinner on a Thursday night. Everything we ordered melted in our mouths. Delicious shrimp and crab appetizer with nori chips, great burger and fries, and a vegetable biryani that was full of flavor and tasted truly homenade. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Juanita & Maude since shortly after it opened. Loved it then, love it now. The only thing I don't like is that it's become more difficult to get in as its popularity has grown.

We spent our second wedding anniversary dinner with them. We wanted to try something new and out of town. Upon arrival, the reservation line was down the block. We only waited 5 minutes before the majority had been seated. I had the mushroom risotto with chanterelles. My groom had the filet mignon. All was cooked to perfection. The owner and staff were all very friendly and attentive. It was a lovely place to spend on Valentine's Day. Thank you for making it so memorable and sweet!

Every element of the meal was fantastic, server, quiet space despite being busy. Every food and drink item was original and had obviously received arduous treatment to be served perfectly, for example, the oil on my cauliflower was cooked in was imbued with toasted nuts and spices!

Date night staple. We have never had anything less than a stellar experience. Cocktails, ambiance, food, service- what more can you ask for. A true gem of the neighborhood!

We've been regulars here for years. The people here have adapted to Covid, etc. without hampering quality; they've unique variety of cuisines that rarely disappoint. This comfy restaurant has a very relaxed friendly feel along with the other attributes mentioned. Highly recommend.

Good was innovative and delicious. Service was impeccable. The outside seating was quiet and the heaters made it cozy. Prices were exorbitant.

This was a meal to celebrate my birthday. Our meal was spectacular. There were three of us, and each had a different entree. Each of us was very excited about our dishes. Wonderful desserts, too, which we shared. We were in a corner outside, so the sound was no problem at all. Our waitperson used to work at Fonda years ago, and we hadn't seen him in many years, which was an additional treat. We made another reservation for our son's birthday.

Juanita & Maude's certainly lived up to its reputation. The menu is small, but diverse. Truly everything on the menu sounded great, and every plate that walked past our table looked great. Our table had three cocktails and a glass of wine, and all were delicious. Our server was helpful with his recommendations, available when we needed him, but not at all pushy. We had a lovely experience, and are already planning our next visit.

This is our go-to date night spot, and honestly: it gets better every time. The cocktails are stunning, the food is inventive and universally delicious, the service is outstanding. It's always busy - but I genuinely believe it's among the best restaurants in the Bay, and while it's by no means a hidden gem, I'm grateful that its reputation (good) doesn't yet match its quality (incredible) - so we can still get a table on a Friday night. We will undoubtedly be back.

Oh my goodness. Our new favorite spot in the east bay. Everything about this place is fantastic. The food is wonderful, the ambiance perfect, we had the sweetest servers ever, and the drinks very unique and tasty. It is pricey - but everything seems to be these days sadly and I'd much rather go here than a subpar pricey restaurant somewhere else. We had the duck buns, so good I ordered another, the miso yams - fantastic, two unique and tasty drinks and the arugula salad. Too full for dessert. I looked up a now 6 year old review after we left because I'd never heard of them before tonight. "The restaurant this neighborhood needs," indeed. Bravo. A total win.
