For a dining establishment on the mountain, The Chalet is pretty good. Not necessarily because of the food but because of the location and ample seating. The Chalet is located on the mountain, near the Yellow chair lift. It's great because you can have lunch on the mountain without having to battle the long lines at the base. I hadn't skied Alpine Meadows in years. I bought a Ikon pass after Mt Rose closed for the year. But since Mother Nature just gave us six to eight at Alpine, I pulled the trigger on a 23/24 Ikon pass and ran up to Alpine Meadows today. What a great time I had, this late in the season I'm skiing untracked powder in the back bowls. A little slice of alpine heaven. Almost felt European.We enjoyed this side of the ski area better.chalet was heavenly in the sun. Sit back mid week and enjoy a bloody marry or hot tody almost on your own.Ski resort prices for sure but, worth it for location.Free water location was a nice touch.Food service is fast and pretty good.
