Amazing food! The owner was very kind. As soon as we got there, he came out with truffles for each of us, which were so amazing! Fresh and chocolatey and wonderful. We had ordered our food in advance, and I read in some reviews that they had a gluten-free option for the bread. My partner got a tuna sandwich and I got the turkey sandwich gluten-free, which is served on an arepa. It was delicious, and the first gluten-free sandwich I have been able to get out since I stopped eating gluten almost a year ago. My partner loved his sandwich, and it was gone in minutes. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!

Been here twice in the last month and definitely falling in love. But the unusual hours make it tough to be here on days when I work. It's closed on weekends for cooking classes and offers a Friday night pre-fixe multi-course meal for one table of 8 starting at 6 PM, ballpark $60 per person. Have to book in advance. The front entrance looks non-nondescript and it's in a mostly industrial zoning area so you wouldn't expect such a high quality restaurant there. Empanadas are made fresh and warm and served with a aioli dipping sauce. Curry chicken more enjoyable than the beef, the latter was mostly protein and definitely needed the aioli dipping sauce whereas the curry chicken has sauce and some diced vegetables and chicken and could stand on its own. Pasta made daily and it shows, gnocchi was pillow soft and fettuccini was al dente. Basil pesto and excellent sauce, moderately viscosity but coats just the right amount of sauce to have strong flavor without being overpowering or excessively salty. Marinara was very thin and muted flavor, would try the Alfredo before getting marinara again. Optional chicken is grilled and already cut into small pieces for easy eating. Sandwiches have many ingredients which combine for deep and complicated flavors that mesh well. Portobello mushroom sandwich is our favorite, just has a bit more crunch and total flavor than the Tuna. Orange Creme Caramel is a cute, aesthetically plated dessert with a creamy flavor and the right amount of orange citrus. Chocolate croissant was heated up and the crispness of the flakes was clearly evident, taste was solid and the texture divine.

The food is outstanding. We had the pesto ricotta gnocchi with a side of crab cakes, the chicken empanada, and the entree of short ribs. The gnocchi was soft and melted in our mouths the crab cakes were fluffy and nicely seared on both sides. The short ribs were a weekly special, so I don't know of it's availability in the future, they were especially tender and delicious. I had to request bread on the side to soak up the sauce. Currently, the store is not suited to serve parties larger than two. A great start before a trip to drinks at Bottle Logic. My only regret is not taking any pictures. Will definitely come back for more.

I jumped off the plane in OC and wanted something quality for lunch. Yelp came to the rescue, directing us to Ake Larry, a wonderful hole in the wall cafe with scratch made food. I had the portobello sandwich and a spinach empanada- so fresh and tasty! The owner gave us a delicious almond blueberry bite when we walked in, and added an amazing aioli to go with the empanadas. The pastry was light and flaky, with just the right amount of filling. The focaccia is made on site and you can taste the quality. From outside it doesn't look like much but inside is a beautiful little retreat with gentle music, candles and a lovely ambiance. Highly recommend.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted warmly by the lady that took my order. Gave me a complimentary blueberry almond pastry while I waited. Rotisserie chicken sandwich was very good. Will definitely be coming back!

So I was craving some foccacia bread for some strange reason. And this place popped up on Yelp with their phenomenal reviews. Causing my eyebrow to raise. So I decided to investigate if the rumors are true... Driving up to what is a small industrial park. I found what would typically be described as a hole in the wall kind of place. Wondering if such a tiny, humble little shop could possibly have good food? Fortunately, I was not let down. Walking in, I was greeted by a sweet, smiling girl who was extremely pleasant and soft jazz music. Instead of the obnoxious pop or rock music that many other places play. Not that I don't like rock and pop. It's great for when I'm at the gym. But when I'm eating? Mehhh... Anyways, I had the rotisserie chicken sandwich and a peanut butter cookie. Everything here appears to be made from scratch and fresh. The chicken sandwich is light and delicately flavored, where each ingredient can be tasted and appreciated. The fresh produce, picked vegetables, rotisserie chicken and tasty, delicate bread. I've read where others refer to the bread as a foccacia, but the crust seems a little too pale to be a foccacia, so the exterior lacks the crispness of a traditional foccacia It reminds me more of a ciabatta. I'm guessing that it's baked in the 300F range instead of the high 400 - 500F range, which is typical of a foccacia. Nevertheless, it's quite tasty. As was the peanut butter cookie that I had. Definitely a jewel of a shop with the hard work and dedication in which they put into making their ingredients. This is the type of business I can truly appreciate and recommend.

What a find! Experience began with a complimentary truffle that was made in-house. Nice start. Ordered the shredded beef and curry empanadas both good and added a peanut butter cookie - phenomenal. Eat out for lunch everyday and around the immediate area there are limited choices. Could not be happier to add Ake'Larry's to my WEEKLY rotation of restaurants I visit.

I honestly didn't know what to expect when we ordered food here, it was convenient to Bottle Logic at a time there were no food trucks at the brewery so we picked up some take out because there were decent reviews and most importantly, it was close. OH MY GOODNESS. The lightest flakiest most pillowy soft empanadas with delicious filling. I had the meat, the chicken curry and the ricotta cheese. The BEST empanadas I have ever had. My husband got the chicken salad and it was damn good as well. I can't wait to go back and try everything. Such an unassuming place, but wow. And the owner threw in a little muffin that tasted like marzipan, but in a good way (I'm not the biggest fan of marzipan). Five stars, absolutely recommend.

I don't even want to write a review because I don't want this place to blow up and get busy. Delicious delicious delicious, authentic food. The empanadas aren't what you expect as they're more on the puff pastry side. Just about everything is made in house and you can really appreciate that in each dish. I recommend 1000%, it's a hidden gem

Oh my goodness what an amazing spot!!!! I was craving a veggie sandwich while in the neighborhood and Ake 'Larry popped up! I wanted to go somewhere delicious lol and vegetarian friendly. When I walked in there were fresh baked cookies, pastas, croissants, and some other amazing looking treats. I was greeted and offered a sample of a delicious pastry. I ordered the portobello sandwich, 3 queso empanada, and a spinach, ricotta empanada. The portobello sandwich was delicious. The best sandwich I've had in a long time the mushrooms were marinated to perfection, the focaccia bread was the best I've had. I definitely will be back! Great atmosphere amazing food!!!

Amazing find. Thanks to Yelp for the nudge in this incredible direction. Larry is kind and hospitable. The table decor helps a small venue feel intimate. The food is fresh, vibrant, and creative. Larry even offered complimentary tutorials on cooking beans, pickling, and growing sprouts! :) My boyfriend and I both loved it - felt like we struck gold, and will definitely return. Thanks Larry! Looking forward to our next meal!
