I've ordered their famous "pho ga" and was total disappointed. I would expect that their famous dish would be somewhat above average but no. The chicken was so bland and too dried. The broth was also bland. I had to add more sauces to it to make it more flavorful. I haven't try the other dishes but not planning to. The only thing that I like is their chicken jerky (very tasteful and spicy) but the price is a little high for a small portion.

We were the only people for weekend dinner the entire time we dined there. I think there were lots of take out orders. Chicken and rice dish was tasty - the chicken was cooked well with lots of flavor. Pho portion was a bit on the small side. For being the only patrons in the restaurant, service wasn't that great. Our dirty appetizer dishes just sorta piled up. Unlike all of the other yelpers, we were not offered an sample of the jerky.

I'm glad Chicken Hero is here because I've been working here for a decade and all the other Vietnamese places nearby are mediocre. They specialize in chicken dishes and the chicken pho is delicious. The customer service is excellent and I'm happy I found a go-to place for lunch when I'm at work. Also, I just got a bag of their chicken jerky that they make on site and I highly recommend it.

I bought their "kho ga" here many times but never noticing they charged extra for tax if paid by credit card. In Anaheim sales tax only 7.75% but they charged 8.75% wonder if they pay extra tax for franchise tax board or not

This is a hidden Gem ! We ordered the chicken fried rice ans the chicken soup which was full of flavor and rich. Lei was very friendly and cooks really good!!! A must try chicken place!!!! I must say it is a comfort food. Feels like home! Definitely coming back here!

The best chicken pho that I've tried. Their chicken jerky is also pretty tasty! The service is great and the prices are very reasonable. The chicken wings are also delicious. This has become our "go to" spot for our cravings for comforting chicken pho.

A family owned Vietnamese style chicken house that specializes in their signature dry chicken jerky and using only hormone free, free range chicken they get from a top vendor in Los Angeles. The menu is small, limited to just a few number of dishes. (They are still primarily known as a seller of their popular chicken jerky, using a patented family recipe.) The main courses are exclusively chicken dishes. Probably the best dish on their menu is the Com Chien Ga or chicken fried rice. The meat was very flavorful and juicy, so distinct from all the other restaurants where I have ordered the same dish. This begged me to ask the question as to where they get their chicken from. The fried rice was also excellent, the vegetables fresh and crisp. A must-try dish. Main Courses (Dac Biet): Pho Ga - Chicken Noodle soup. Comes with either Chicken Thigh, breast, shredded breast or a Combination. A small bowl is $6.99, large bowl is $7.99. Com Chien Ga, $6.99 - chicken fried rice Kho Ga La Chanh, $12 - dried chicken jerky with lime leaves The dried chicken jerky is a nice balance of savory, sweet and has a surprising chewiness despite its dry texture in much the same way dried fish or cuttlefish jerky is. It makes a tasty snack but I probably would not order it as a main course. Expect the same quality chicken in the pho ga. The meat is so fresh and flavorful. The noodles are perfectly cooked, chewy and bouncy. The broth is clean, balanced but I felt a tad too sweet. I would not, nevertheless, be opposed to ordering it again simply because the meat is so good. Appetizers (Khai Vi) include Egg Rolls, chicken wings, French fries and the following two favorites of mine here: Banh It Ram, $5.99 - pork, shrimp potstickers Banh Bot Loc (6), $4.99 - clear and chewy Tapioca dumplings with shrimp and pork filling Desserts include mung bean, red bean and durian filled pia cakes (Banh Pia) for just $1.50 each. Particularly when the owner and manager Lan is present. Chicken Hero makes perhaps the tastiest Vietnamese style chicken fried rice I have tried yet. And it was a nice introduction and a place to try their popular Vietnamese dried chicken jerky.
Every time we go to San Diego from Arcadia we must stop at this place to eat their Chicken Pho! And also buy 4 additional orders to go. We've had both the large white and dark meat pho. They were very very tasty and a lot of chicken and noodle. We've eaten at many pho restaurants in the LA areas, this place is the BEST! Also, if you like spicy food, you must come to try their hot chili peppers and the hot chili sauce, oh boy! They are so good. Before you go, get a bag of their Chicken Jerky. I guarantee you will come back to buy more!!! On top of all the great food, the service is excellent!!
