A cute cozy Japanese bakery that serves a variety of baked goods ranging from sweet to savory. Service was kind and attentive, however it became unexpectedly packed from how one would think a weekday mid morning. I tried the butter and salt roll, strawberry and cream croissant, mascot bun with dark chocolate filling, s'more tart, and japanini, which is like their version of a panini, but Japan? The butter and salt is unique texture-wise, it's got that outer layer crunch of a croissant, but the softness of a French baguette inside. The strawberry and cream croissant has the potential to be dangerously addictive; When you bite into it, the croissant is light and airy while the cream is nice and fluffy, slightly sweet that pairs well with the strawberries. I would go back again just for those two alone, and also just for the vibes.

Great unique bakery if you want to try something different and better than the usual Paris Baguette and 85°C chains. Tried most of the savory pastries here and although everything was delicious, the standout item was their Salt & Butter Roll (which I believe is what this place is mostly known for). Pair the pastry selections with any of their matcha drinks and you're in for a treat.

My favorite was the fish filet! Only giving a 4 stars bc I didn't think the drinks were that great! I got the taro sea salt

I have been to this bakery time and time again and it never fails. Both their coffee and baked goods are amazing. It's almost a weekly ritual for us! The service is always great! We are always greeted and served with smiles even when they are busy! (The line gets crazy, trust me!). I would recommend getting their salt and butter roll (original) and any other variations of it. It will not disappoint, I promise! The other baked goods are great too, but the salt and butter roll is definitely a staple for us. Try it! You won't regret it!

Heard so many great things about this place and have seen it all over on social media. They always have a long line so that means I had to check it out!!!! Was in the area and was on a time crunch but drove by to see if there was a long line. I lucked out since it was a short line so I had to park real quick and jump on in. Very cute and simple store. One side for drinks to be picked up, and the other side pastries and desserts. I loved that their clock is different breads/ pastries for their hours. Not much seating. There's limited seating outside. But on the inside, on the side where the drinks come out have a bit of standing room with two tables and a ledge next to the window. For the pastries I got a bunch to share with the family back home. I got the chocolate emoji, their famous salt and butter rolls, mentai salt and butter roll, spicy curry pan, strawberry milk cream croissant, almond amande. If you get a minimum of 6 pastries, it will come in a cute box with their design of the bear and chef on the box. Inside you have a sheet to cover your pastries and they gave me cute stickers!!! For the drink I got the matcha rose latte (Premium Matcha powder, sweetened with rose syrup, topped with Sea Salt Vanilla foam). The drink was absolutely amazing! I can see why it is one of their popular ones. Strong earthy taste of the matcha. And the sea salt vanilla foam was rich, creamy, velvety. The fragrant smell of the rose was subtle. For the pastries, all the breads were really soft and moist. The spicy curry pan has no red meat in it. It is vegetables but with chicken broth? But super flavorful and has a nice savory taste and kick of spice to it. The strawberry milk cream croissant was one of my faves! The croissant was airy and flakey. The cream was light and creamy. Good amount of strawberry to cream and croissant ratio. Just the right amount of sweetness. The mentai salt and butter roll was a touch salty for me and too much filling. But the bread was totally the star. Super soft and almost bouncy. After I left, there was a really long line down the block. I don't know what is the best time to get there. But I was there at 11:00AM on a Friday and was like the 8th person in line. I can't wait to go back again because I want to try another of their lattes and I'm going back for that croissant!

I absolutely love this cafe! I get at least one salt and butter roll every visit, it really is a must try. The Matcha Sea Salt Cold Brew is also one of my favorites here. There can be a long line but trust me it is worth the wait! The staff is always so friendly and work efficiently to keep the line moving. Highly recommend!

drink: banana matcha latte - super sweet but its so good so honestly worth it food: we were lucky to get fresh salt bread (unfortunately they were out of the curry pan) price: reasonably priced for the quality!! service: always great service ambiance: small and cute bakery and line can get long in the mornings (understandably) but it goes by fast and there are limited seats outside!

This place is the best!! I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the menu items and the salt and butter roll is a MUST try! The Hokkaido flour really does make a huge difference in terms of fluffiness and that's what makes Okayama Kobo so unique compared to other bakeries. I personally really like "The Bacon" as a savory option and it's always fun to surprise friends with any of their emoji breads :) The drinks here are also yummy and I personally like their sea salt taro latte when I'm craving a sweet treat. The only downside is the line, which can take a while especially on the weekends! Pastries are first come first serve so I don't recommend coming close to closing time. I think the service is overall good, given the foot traffic and how often the employees have to interact with people!

Still a delicious cafe and bakery in the heart of Anaheim! For this visit, I came on a Sunday around lunch and probably waited the same amount of time (20-25 minutes). I think it is worth the wait. I tried the salt and butter cookie roll, le chocolat, and the ichigo daifuki. I highly recommend the salt and butter cookie roll. It was deliciously salty, and there is an ever so thin cookie baked on top that adds some sweetness to the roll. So good. The le chocolat was also tasty. Quote from my grandma: Oh my gosh, how is this so fluffy! I personally wasn't a big fan of the ichigo daifuki unfortunately. For drinks, I was thrilled when I was able to order a matcha latte with both banana and strawberry creme. Thank you to the staff for not shooting me with lasers when I ordered this, and for making such a delicious drink. The matcha was on point and the creme was sooo good (both of them complimented each other so well!)

Okayama Kobo Bakery lives up to its reputation. The service was quick and friendly. I loved their matcha latte and cannot wait to try the rest of their drink and treat selection. The only con is the parking due to the location being in downtown Anaheim, but that is expected in any downtown area. Regardless, it was definitely worth coming here.

There was a line in a Sunday morning around 10:30, but I think the line just goes all day. But it moved pretty fast, so it didn't seem too bad. We got: Salt bread - 5/5. Could eat this all day. Fish panini - 5/5. So flavorful and flaky. All others (chocolate emoji, ichigo daifuku, etc) were not very exciting. I would go back for the first two items.

After moving far away from the DTLA location, we decided to check out Okayama Kobo in Anaheim on a rainy morning. To our surprise, there was a long line formed right out the door but we could see definitely see why! The small shop serves up a large variety of sweet and savory pastries, breads, and drinks. We got the Japanini, a no-brainer combination of pesto, bacon, cheese, and tomato, as well as the Curry Pan, a delicious panko-crusted bun filled with curry. Everything was so yummy, we can't wait to come back!!

The restaurant is located on a quaint unbusy street with a lot of outdoor seating nearby. It has great ambiance if you just want to eat outside as the indoor bakery is mostly to go only theres no seating which makes sense since it seems like theyre consistently busy. I went to an event nearby calles takumi alley that showcases an artist alley for asian inspired merchandise and art which takumi alley is actually sponsored by Okayama bakery which (as an asian artist) is a pretrt cool thing to do! The decoration and store front was very cute! I loved the bread themed clock. The line was very long it was maybe a 30-40 minute wait but it was very fast when ordering and getting my baked goods. There were so many cute freshly made breads and desserts to choose from. You could tell it was made daily from the taste and the warmth of it. The drink selection was good and had asian flavors that I enjoy like matcha or ube.

Food is under my expectation. I ordered the Kobo Kuma, salt n butter roll and strawberry croissant. Ate the roll and the croissant immediately after paying. So disappointed that I didn't wanna eat the kobo kuma, maybe tomorrow I'll eat it. Service however is 7 stars to those working behind the counter and the cashier. Excellent job, I am impressed It's a great place to hangout with friends or family in the outdoor because there's space and the weather is very nice today

I again tried this matcha latte with banana cream and it was as delicious as usual. We also got the cold brew topped with banana cream as well which was also tasty. The staff were friendly and it is located inside a cute interior cafe.
