I grew up in Shanghai and traveled back frequently in my adult years. Despite the nostalgic decoration, the dishes I tried tasted bland and not tasty. I ordered the Shanghai style drunk chicken and smoked fish. No flavor for either dish which is a huge disappointment. My home made drunk chicken from the supermarket sauce tasted better than theirs. Shrimp stir fry rice tasted bland too. Will not be returning.

Thought it would just be a quick bite of Shanghai Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, but flipping through the menu felt like a trip back to Shanghai—each dish a deep-rooted memory!Even so, we went all out and ordered a bunch of dishes. Each one was authentically Shanghai, and I especially recommend the Wine Chicken. Honestly, wanted to try everything on the menu. The Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, originally the main attraction, took a back seat. Auntie even brought spicy soy sauce and hot chili powder from Shanghai—selling the sauce for $6 a bottle. The chili powder isn't for sale, but she'll give it to you. Added a new item to the wishlist: Conquer their entire menu!
Small and cozy Chinese restaurant. Its pretty chill and the food is kinda my alley. Minimum card payment is $20. I got myself beef fried noodles ($16) togo and its pretty good. Noodles are thick but light, and an ok amount of meat in it. I saw really yummy dumplings being served to a family, so that'll be my next order. Will update when I get the chance

I saw good recommendations from websites and tried. The drunken chicken is too sweet. Stinky tofu is frozen tofu. Fried radish cake inside is too sticky. The fried fish tastes bitter. Not authentic enough Shanghai style or taste. Over priced.

Overall good meal. Food is overall on the sweeter side, which is generally a characteristic of Shanghainese food, but seemed liked it lacked balance here. Interior is interesting, yet still casual. Service was very good.

The place is AC cold. I need my jacket to eat. But it's cool. So clean that can't think it's a Asian restaurant XD

The meat was so skimpy , chewy , hard and mostly broth. Noodles in a cup was better. For $15 you would expect more. FoShan next door was so much better.

The Shanghai vegetable rice is too wet, not dry enough, and the rice tastes too soft. The eggplant was overall too salty. The braised pork was not soft enough and tasted too sweet. Overall, this Shanghai style food is not very authentic. Probably won't go again.
