This is on the second floor of the mall close to Nordstrom and past Din Tai Fung. My friend and I came here bc we heard good things about this place. I got the Chicken Noodle Soup with Crispy Hainan Chicken. Honestly, I didn’t think it was anything special. The broth and noodles tasted like something I could get at a cheap Chinese diner. The chicken was pretty good though. There was a generous serving with the chicken. The skin was crunchy and crispy, and perfectly cooked. The meat was juicy.Parking: It’s inside the Santa Anita mall so there’s lots of available parking.

The all white Hainan chicken with rice was so bland, chicken was just steamed chicken breast, the rice was regular white rice , not authentic at all.

Very good chicken. Hainanese crispy chicken rice was delicious. Highly recommend!

Ive eaten here twice. The first time wasn't memorable and the second time was memorable for the wrong reasons, as the chicken tasted like rubber the second time around. I'm sure it's just a kitchen issue but that shouldnt happen like it did.

Their portion got smaller. Only got 4 pcs of chicken for 1 order. The taste is okay. It's not worth it for the price.

Were reviewing the sidechick inside the Arcadia mall . The service was fine. We ordered the Hainan chicken with rice and the hainan chicken noodle soup . Each was about 14$ for the portion and taste We'd say it's over priced by about 3 to4 $ You can come here if you really need hainan chicken and cant get it any where else

Absolutely loved the crispy hainan chicken. It was very crispy without being oily. The meat was juicy and delicious. It came with a sweet sauce that gave it the perfect extra flavor. It also has a side of pickled cucumbers that balanced the chicken. Would recommend if you want a quick and delicious place to eat at the mall.

Seems like the pandemic or Din Tai Fung quieted some of the businesses that we had seen in the "restaurant row" in Santa Anita. After a day of shopping my mom and I were looking for something that we could get quick, yet would satisfy the tastebuds. We were too in a rush to battle the wait at Din Tai Fung, so we wandered down the food row and stumbled on this place. First of all, great name. I was cracking up, not knowing if it intended to be as funny as what was in my head. The menu was not as exciting as the name of the place unfortunately. In a time bind I ordered the hainan chicken. Okay, so this probably isn't the fairest review since I was STARVING. The chicken was okay, the sauces were pretty tasty - but overall I've definitely have had better hainan. Would I go again? Probably not, but did it satisfy my empty tummy? Yeah, not bad.

Oh no, awful. I hate leaving bad reviews for restaurants (look at the hundreds of other reviews I've done), but this place is terrible. I'm pretty sure we got food poisoning from not fresh chicken. The rice was hard and stale. As we sat waiting for the food, we already regretted ordering because there were NO other customers around at 12:50. Of course the food is not fresh, how can it be? We asked if they could do the fried chicken with soup noodle and they said no (why? Just put the fried chicken on the top or on the side) This was bad food, they were not accommodating with requests; we'll definitely not be returning. Side note: they used to have a sesame noodle looooong ago that was pretty decent. It's been gone for awhile now. I'm pretty sure the original owner and the current are not the same.

I ordered the Crispy Hainan Chicken. It was pretty good! The chicken was cut into very large pieces so you had to pour the sauce on the chicken rather than dipping. I prefer the sauces provided for the regular hainan chicken compared to the tangy sauce that comes with the crispy hainan chicken, so I paid an extra 50 cents to get the other sauces instead. Overall, it's a solid go-to place if you're at the mall and craving hainan chicken. It was on the pricier side considering that they didn't provide soup and only gave a few cucumbers as the veggie.

Went pre-pandemic and loved it. Never reviewed it but I saw all the recent bad reviews and was apprehensive to go back. I guess they didn't offer the fried Hainan once they opened up again, but I can confirm that it's back! Today we gave it another shot and it was still good! I don't know what all the poor reviews were about. The chicken was super crispy, rice was tender and delicious and the sauces compliment the meal very well. I will say they are using thicker portions of dark meat chicken which means there's a smaller surface area for the fried part and it used to be a thinner cut of meat. They packaged the chicken and rice separately for us and gave everything to-go style. They used to have larger squares plates that made it feel more put together.

No cucumbers and no soup. The rice with chicken portions depleted. The dark meat are chewy with tendons and hard flavorless rice, which is not typical to the old Side Chick I’ve had multiple times. I see the ownership change along with the menu changes. It’s not the same anymore. It was super yummy with the brown containers.
