I recently tried this boba shop, and it left me with mixed feelings. While the tea lacked a distinct tea flavor, making the drinks seem average, the Boba was passable at best.

I've had Tea Maru in the past at another location and I was sorely disappointed by the boba that they had since they are known from their handmade boba that's made in house right before you. Coupled with the meh factor of the drink, I wasn't raring to go back any time soon. I thought with a new location, some years passing, and ordering something else, that I would enjoy my drink. Once again, not the best experience. I ordered the: 1) Okinawa Latte: -I got this as regular size, less sweet. -It's a black milk tea with brown sugar and boba. -There is a nice roasted taste to this and it's a decently tasty milk tea, but the boba, which they're known for making in house, was really slimy and soft, unfortunately. 2) Tea Maru Latte: -Despite being it's namesake, it's just like any other milk tea that you can get at a franchise. Not bad, but at that price point, it's probably better to get it at any franchise for a fraction of the price. -This drink does come with their mixed housemade boba which gave some variety to it and this boba wasn't as mushy as the other one, but even the boba couldn't save this drink. As with the other location, Tea Maru is still a skip for me unless someone else is treating.

Though the reason for the one star and why I won't come anymore is the policy regarding coupon redemptions. One per customer per day. First I already paid the money for the redemptions, what does it matter if I want more than one drink? Forcing me to come back for someone I already paid for another day is more of an annoyance than a way to secure more business...

Excellent bubble tea shop. The mango jasmine tea, the various matcha latte and cheese foam drinks, all delicious. It would be nice if they added some proper seating inside, they have the room for it, but the space is sitting empty and looks pretty sterile. Service is usually pretty fast, occasionally it is not.

TLDR: Staff didn't have online order ready and instead of making my order, sells the last boba to walk-in customers and tells me to wait 20 min+ for more.Ordered online, arrived past the pick up time, and order wasn't ready. Instead of making my beverages, they served two walk-in customers and told me they just ran out of boba...They told me I could wait another 20 minutes for more and couldn't give me a refund.I've come here several times and always leave a tip yet this place consistently never has your order ready, staff just sits around until you walk in and make you wait anyway.

i LOVE their kiwi citrus breeze tea with mango boba. if you lower the sweetness, it's deliciously sour. the wait time could be better- it sometimes takes 20 minutes for two drinks. they did add chairs to the place though so that is super nice while waiting! you can also order via tablet.

came here to redeem my Groupon purchased and there's only one staff working and she's very friendly and helpful throughout my order. I always ordered more milk and I was able to just my sweetness because I am watching my sugar intake. I feel like it's a hit or miss because some times I can't request for sugar adjustment, but sometimes I can't, but it's important especially for people who need to watch their sugar intake. The staff is very friendly and she works fast despite working by herself, and there were a couple people came in after I placed my order . It's very quiet when I came in, but still welcoming vibe.

I am a repeat customer for tea maru, if they had public stock, I would invest. The San Gabriel location and others have always been good for me. But this particular location has always been sub par. I wouldn't usually write this review, but this time I got a Honey Lemon tea and there was no tea in it, it was just a watery lemon drink, you can tell from the color. The boba was disintegrating in my drink. And there was a plastic something floating in my drink that would easily fit up my straw. Love Tea Maru, but avoid this location. Go to the San Gabriel one.
Let me be clear. The product is good. Great even. I am a repeat customer. This is about staff. Nobody is out here loving this economy. I get it. But do you gotta look mad that I walked in? No greeting. Fine. No asking how they can help. Fine. I'm getting used to the idea that this is the new standard for customer service. But great googly moogly, I felt like I had just crashed a funeral. I don't expect it to be saccharine chik-fil-a level service. I really don't. But I legit felt like I shouldn't be there. Also, different staff at different visits give off the same vibe. So I'm not singling any one person out. If you love boba, come here. If you hate good vibes, also come here. Oh and they got my order wrong. Fine. It happens.

First time visiting, friendly service, located next to 24hr fitness in Arcadia. We enjoyed our drinks: Maru Milk with sweet potato boba & Grapefruit Fantasy with sweet potato boba. They both had good flavor, grapefruit was refreshing, homemade boba was chewy. We went at the end of the day almost 9p so the boba wasn't as soft as I'd like. Next time I'll try going in the afternoon when the boba is more fresh.

Bought Groupon along with friend that also bought his own Groupon. We tried to redeem our vouchers for one drink each and was told that one Groupon per visit and we could only redeem one voucher for both of us! I told her that we each have our own voucher but she said policy recently changed and that only voucher could be used for a group per visit! This conflicts with details of Groupon that said one per person per visit! Beware of buying from this place especially Groupon as it'll be closed down soon! Drinks at this place are a "hit or miss" depending on the quality and employee making it. And this place constantly runs out of boba! For a place that's dead, how is that possible? I'll take my business elsewhere.
