I saw on X a post by Giancarlo Moreira promoting Los Consomes so my hubby and I went to visit. The atmosphere and vibe was very welcoming and mama kitchen. The pozole was the best on the West Coast. My hubby loves the asada tacos. The food was fresh, flavorful and great portions. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward in bringing my in laws and family and co-workers.

I'm a local and a frequent visitor of this location. Food has always been great and the owners never fail to greet me with a smile and a warm attitude. Place is very casual and humble but don't let that throw you off from the food. I've had the opportunity to try out most of the items/meats and was tender and delicious every-time.They have a great variety of meats and lots of vegetarian options as well. Strong recommendation for anyone in the area or visiting!Recommendations:Al pastor nachosBirria quesadillaPozole

Good flavored food, had the birria ramen, menudo, quesatacos (asada and Al pastor). Quick and easy service with great staff and clean restaurant.

I was in the mood for birria so I came here. It was fine. The restaurant is clean. And the cashier was friendly.

4.5 stars.I had driven by Los Consomes multiple times on the way to 99 Ranch, and decided to finally try it out since I love soups. The interior was much smaller than I anticipated, with just a few tables. Order and pay at the counter, but your food will be brought out to you if you dine in. The interior decor was simple, but with a clever pun on the wall.Obviously, they have lots of soups on the menu, but some other non-soup dishes too. We ordered the albóndigas (meatball) soup and menudo, plus a chipotle pork taco and a slice of chocoflan. We were also given a complimentary potato flauta to try (as a sample for an upcoming new menu item). The taco was flavorful but pricey. The soups were definitely the highlight of the meal, piping hot and tasty, plus served in ceramic bowls just like in Mexico. The homemade salsa and chocoflan were also excellent. Prices were fair overall. Some of the plates/bowls were slightly chipped, which is bad luck in Chinese culture, if I am being superstitious.Service was very friendly and the lady was bilingual. There was an Asian duo dining before us (makes sense given the area) who said "gracias" with a cute accent on the way out.I really enjoyed the food and would love to come back to try more soups! Wishing this small business the best of luck as a Mexican restaurant in a highly Asian neighborhood (good thing Asians also love soup)!

Very disappointed. I used to come here very frequently for its Caldo de pollo . This last time, the vegetables were not cooked, they were hard and the portion of chicken meat was very little. I can say that almost no meat.

This place is a Gem ?! I tried quite a few of the dishes and each one of them was delicious! The shrimp Taco, the Birria Ramen, and the Al pastor Tacos was so good??. The horchota was the best ever. Definitely give this place a try and you won't be disappointed at all.

Where to begin. Lots to digest here. No pun intended. Let's start with the optics. Simple decor, quasi clean appearance, not very busy, but overall satisfactory. The service was descent, friendly smile, but not very helpful. Or better said not good at selling your products. The name, Los Consumes, suggests they're known for their soups , which they have a good selection of. So, I asked for advice on their Pozole or albondigas soup. Yes, loaded question with no right or wrong answer, so most sell you on both with their favorite tipping the scale; provided they describe both with the difference in ingredients and overall flavors, trying to sell you on how tasty they all are. Answer: whichever, I like albondigas. Nevertheless, no real salesmanship and this place needs it. It's the lunch hour and its dead. Decided on the Pozole. The menu describes it as pork in chili broth with hominy. The result: The broth was more clear than chili. So no real chili flavor, but looked decent.. The pork was bland and dry. The sides consisted of limes, canned salsa (or what tasted like canned salsa), red pepper flakes, and onions and cilantro. Generally, authentic Pozole is served in a chili broth, hominy, chunks of pork with sides of cabbage, radish, powdered chili, or homemade chili sauce. So needless to say there is much improvement needed here. My partner ordered a carnitas burrito. This too was disappointing. Beans, carnitas, rice and well, It just looked like goulash. There was a burnt flavor as though the refried beans had been overcooked or reused. The meat was also dry and lacked flavor. There was nothing appetizing about it. I know I am hard on this small business, but if they want to improve they must work in providing flavor to their "authentic " dishes. For now find an alternative. More work needed here.

Who knew this Mexican spot in the middle of a town filled with Asian and Indian food would be this amazing! Their tacos were really good quality and their quesotacos were filled! What I really enjoyed was their Birria Ramen. It has goat AND beef. Yum.The staff there was incredibly sweet and friendly as well. Service was just top notch. Our cousin was from out of the country and hasn't had this kind of Mexican food yet (she tried Taco Bell, which we know doesn't constitute as "Mexican" food). They explained to her the menu and what to expect, and was very patient. I give it to them for their service alone because they were so sweet.Prices were decent too. Not bad for the quality food you get. Very much worth it and I definitely see myself coming back for more and recommending it to other people!

Currently, Los consomés has become one of my favorite places to eat authentic Mexican food on my weekends, especially on my work breaks. The chipotle tacos are my top choice, and when you order 2 chipotle tacos, you get 50% off on nachos, which I enjoy along with a refreshing horchata. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which is important to me. I highly recommend trying the chipotle tacos as the flavors are delightful and melt in your mouth. Additionally, the chocoflan makes for a delicious dessert. If possible, I would rate this small business more than 5 stars.
