A Portuguese bakery in Fountain Valley! From what I can tell, they recently relocated from Artesia to Fountain Valley in 2023. It is located in a strip shopping plaza with plenty of parking. I came on a Friday afternoon and there was no line. It looked like they may still be in transition because besides a small display case, there was no menu, prices, or descriptions of items. This being my first time, it wasn't entirely helpful, so you may have to ask if you don't know what you are looking for. It would be nice to be able to clearly see all of their offerings and prices. The inside was a little bare so seats/tables would also be nice. I opted for their signature egg tart (according to their website called their Queijada de Nata). One egg tart is $5, half dozen for $15, and dozen for $25. One egg tart for $5 is a little steep, so you are way better off ordering more and sharing. The egg tart aesthetically looked amazing. Flavor-wise, it was definitely solid. Rich, creamy, and light. I would put it on par with the egg tarts at Paderia, which I think are $3.25 each. Overall would love to come back and try their other products when they have them available. Worth a try if you want something different than Paderia.

Great selection of Portuguese food products. Great value coupled with excellent customer service. Simple setup in a strip mall for easy access.

So glad they moved closer to us. Now we can conveniently get their egg custard and other Portuguese favorites.

FIRST time there today. Didn’t realize “PORTUGAL iMPORTS ” would sell pastries. As my wife was going to get hair done the other day she said there was the “most wonderful smell coming from somewhere!” Ladies in salon said that’s Portugal Imports baking. Checked it out this morning. The MOST delicious tarts ever!! They’ve just been there a few months since moving from their Artesia store after 16 years. Once they get everything going, this place will be the GO TO PLACE for pastries! Looking forward to those almond pastries! DELICIOUS!

Incredible tarts and pastries!! Located near Warner/Magnolia I Fountain Valley, Marco, the owner is a master pastry maker! Have been waiting for a great pastry place to come here. Having just moved in recently, they are only making few pastry options as of now. However, what they have is so delicious! Highly recommend stopping on your way to work!

Came to Portugal imports to get some cod fritters. I'm so sad they moved further away from me but the new place looks newer and bigger. They have more rooster stuff at this new location. You can definitely find the sardine cans, sumol, cod fritters in the freezer, wine etc. it's in a strip mall and you may pass it by so be on the lookout. Same great owners with a smile

I'm so happy to see a portuguese bakery open in Fountain Valley! I loved the pastel de nata which are portuguese egg tarts. We came around 3pm and were lucky to get a fresh warm batch! I got a half a dozen for my family but wish I bought more. We enjoyed taking it home and sprinkling it with cinnamon. They were sold out of the ham and cheese pastries but my siblings enjoyed the almond pastry and the bacalhau pastry which is savory and made from codfish. The shop is small with very sweet owners. They let me know that they recently relocated from Artesia and are enjoying the new Fountain Valley location. They also give you one free pastry if you pay with cash and purchase over 25 or more which is a great deal!

This review is long overdue. Best salted cod fish available in the area. The natas were ok but not memorable. I never had natas before but the taste did not impress anyone in my family. We drove from the Valley to their previous location in Artesia in December 2020 because we wanted to make Bacalao a la Vizcaina for Christmas Eve dinner. I saw that their staff was tending to a client who was buying the cod in bulk, so they were getting it weighed right then. We decided to buy the skin and bone-in cod that was pre packed and pre-weighed in the refrigerator. Beautiful thick chunks! I must say that their cod fish is the best. We got a little over 6 pounds total weight. I used 4 pounds to make my family's version of Bacalao-a-la-vizcaina which yielded enough for dinner, and to freeze about a quart to eat next June on tapas for a savory memory of Christmas . The reminder 2ish pounds of salted cod were left in the freezer which I used 2 years later, and the bacalao was still in perfect shape. The reason for the minus one star is because when we got back home the day I purchased the cod, I weighed it, and the weight of 2 of the chunks was less than what was stated on the sticker of the package. That was a bummer because even a little cod is a lot, due to it's cost and how it yields when cooked! I'm thinking of driving to their new location tomorrow(which is even farther away from me now) and asking to get the bacalao weighed on the spot. I will also bring my scale with me in case weighing on the spot is not possible. Highly recommend this place!

Everything they sell is very delicious, but the customer service is terrible, rude despots, even when answering the phone, the lady has a face that is always bad, I would not return to that place ?

I'm surprised there aren't any reviews for this place yet! Came here to try out Portugese pastries for the first time. I the inside has some really cool portugese food items: sardines, sausages, olive oil, and other spices. I chatted with one of the employees and he took the time to explain the different pastries that they had. Pastel de nata: delicious custard tarts with a flaky crust and sweet eggy filling. This is their most famous item, delicious!! Queijadas: similar to the pastel de nata but creamier/richer. I forgot the name of the last item, but it was super airy and flaky with a cream filling that reminded me of powdered doughnuts. A bit too sweet for my taste, but pretty good. If you've never had portugese pastries, this place is definitely worth a try!!
