Jose at the Anaheim Rodrigo's always gives us great service. He has a good memory of what we like, and is so welcoming every time we visit.

Called to place a pickup order & was told that they don't do phone orders at this location because "their system is really slow." The server told me I would have to come in to place the order & wait. I might be overthinking this, but wtf is the difference if I give you the order in person, or over the phone? Other than the fact I now I have to sit & wait rather than having it prepped as I drive over. Some of us are still trying to avoid large crowds because we live with people susceptible to covid. You'd think the restaurant would be happy to have orders after being closed for almost two years. Your service sucks.

Love love love this place. It's the wife's favorite comfort food spot. Great 2-3 item combo meals, always plenty of chips and super tasty salsa. We often split a 3 item and its plenty after putting down a few bowls of the complimentary chips and salsa. Be sure to get a "crunchy" shredded beef taco in your combo and put some of their chip salsa in it! Spectacular. It's a fresh fried tortilla so still fairly soft but crunchy around the edges. The cheese enchilada and the chile relleno are also super tasty. They even have a Mexican pizza! It makes me sad to see their traffic seeming to go down as this place is always good and doesn't cost a fortune. It's a chain and there are more around. Don't hesitate, go! Go now! You will be back if you do, I'm sure of it. Hmmn, I see some haters on some other items but stick to the taco, chile relleno and cheese enchilada and you can't go wrong. I have had the chile Verde and Colorado and not as much of a fan

Good food, good Margueritas but though it wasn't crowded when we arrived, we had to ask for chips, individual salsas for the table, then waited too long for it while our group of 8 were drinking.Vegetarian options: I ordered shrimp quesadilla which was very good. ?

Excellent Mexican cuisine. The service is nice and the waiters are even nicer. Great food, large portions and a relaxing atmosphere! Enjoy!

I’ve been a fan of Don Jose’s/Rodrigo’s for decades but things have changed. There are expectations when you go there. The service has always been awesome. Your glass is not empty before they are refilling it. I can’t remember ever having my order screwed up, until today. My standard order is two chicken tacos (crispy). Our waiter seemed to be tending bar which is not unusual. When our meals arrive, I had only one taco and I was told that I would have another one soon. Never happened. Later, after our glasses had been dry for some time, he showed up with iced tea and filled all three of our glasses. Only problem is my wife’s sister was drinking water. She was told she would have a new glass of water soon. Never happened. Finally he brought the bill for over $61 and asked how everything was. He had no memory that he owed me a taco and my wife’s sister a glass of water. I reminded him and he actually offered to get me that taco to go. I declined the offer and he walked away. He never came back to collect my payment so I went to the cashier. It will be a while before I will return to Artesia.

I'm so disappointed with this place. I usually don't like to give bad railings, but I just felt like the experience could have been better. The rice wasn't cooked all the way and the black beans had no flavor. I never got to taste the queso fresco on my food which was the whole point of ordering the chille relleno. We had to ask for water and napkins. I never tasted the tequila in the coconut margarita. I gave it a 2 because the waitress was nice but we only saw her when she brought the drinks and gave us our bill

We came here after a funeral. I made the arrangements for the large room about a week before. The food was good, not great. The manager came over several times to make sure everything was ok. The waitress could’ve been better. We had one guest who has a gluten allergy. The waitress told her that they “add gluten to the rice”. Look, I’m cool if you don’t know the answer to something, hell I’m not sure what gluten free means, but I know you don’t “add” it like a seasoning. Wish she’d have just gone and asked someone who did know. And also when I asked on several occasions both before and after we got there to please let people know we would be picking up the tab on food, but they were on their own for alcohol. She never did. Just brought separate bills at the end of the meal. And this I can assure you was not a “mix-up”.

all right to all my people who looking for the "mexican food experience" this is not it. just save your money, time and thrill. 3 reason why i honestly didnt like my experience with the "food". 1. the most important thing is food. lets just say food has no "mexican taste", like at all. food its bland, tasteless, dry and just white wash. food presentation is not "mexican looking" either and taste like it came from pollo loco. again no mexican taste at all. 2. drinks i ordered a modelo negra but it was watered down. 3. restaurant aesthetic does not feel like youre eating at a mexican mexican restaurant. only good thing about this place were the servers and staff. really attentive and friendly

My family and I were overcharged, I ordered a margarita for Me and my mom, They had gave us these "medium" glass cups for the margarita. After eating our bill was over 80 BUCKS!! My son and I only ate kids enchiladas rice and beans, and we got some guacamole on the side that wasn't even that good, and my mom didn't even eat, and our bill was OVER 80 BUCKS! Looking at the bill the "meduim' margaritas were 20 BUCKS!! I felt so ripped off because they didn't make our food right and everything was cold and soggy.

Been going to Don Jose/Rodrigo's for as long as I can remember. Mexican food has always been a family favorite and the prices have always been affordable. A Church group held a goodbye luncheon there and two ordered the Salmon. I have been ordering the shrimp salad lately and love it! Both who ordered Salmon wanted to come back again for it. The presentation was fantastic. When I went next time, I ordered Salmon. It was moist and delicious with an amazing sauce. A bed of rice with vegetables elevates not only the plate but is delicious and brought home because it's such a generous portion! I commented on it to some friends who came with me that day to try the Salmon. All three of us agreed it was definitely worth our coming for!

Outstanding or Horrific, i won't waste our time reviewing average. Have you ever left a restaurant angry? Me either, until today. Sheesh! Today my better 1/3 and I finally had time to hit Rodrigo's in Artesia. We had been looking forward to this for quite some time, but with work being as it is, it was hard to get out here. We walk in and are taken to the bar area. We notice it's pretty hot ( The AC wasn't working) but we figured we'd muscle through it since we have been excited to eat here. The room is huge, with a lot of tables. The booths are mostly taken and there is one big group of around 10-12 people seated at the corner table. The hostess seats us in the corner, right next to the big LOUD party. Ok, ok, I get it, maybe they are closing sections, or this was the only open table for a certain server. All I know is these people were LOUD and it was HOT!!! They had a fan circulating the air, but with no windows and everyone bunched up, it was just uncomfortable. We order our food, and it takes a good while. We are sitting there not enjoying this place at all. The food finally comes out, my better 1/3 got the Tortilla Soup, me, some special enchilada plate. The beans and rice, very good, but the rest of the food was very bland. Her soup was Luke warm. Our server was busy so that never got addressed. We just wanted to leave at this point, but our server was missing in action. Then another large group arrives and they know the first group. So they congregate directly in front of our booth, blocking what little air we were getting for well over 15 minutes. It was so hot I was ready to vomit. Finally the server comes over, we get the check, pay, and immediately get out of there. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!! As we are heading out, we make a wrong turn and end up in the next room. The next room with a few couples eating, a ton of open tables / booths, AND WITH NICE, COOL AIR CONDITIONING!!! What the heck is going on? It was nice, quiet, and cool, yet we were thrown in the corner, crammed in behind large groups, and no AC. So why did I leave angry you may ask. So the hostess who sat us is looking at us coming out of the nice room, and so I casually stated, "I can't believe you would put us in that crowded room with no air conditioning when you have all that space in that room." She responds, "Well, you could have just asked." With a smart-ass attitude. I mean, why would you make sure people are going to have a horrible experience first of all. Second, why would you make it the customers fault, when your job is to seat them. Whatever. Easily the worst experience in years. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED STILL FEELING SICK NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

Had a wonderful meal! And the customer service is excellent! Our server Dominic made my daughter and I feel at home. I will definitely keep coming back!
