This is the only indian restaurant i have been too that has buffet on dinner and/or weekends. I have been to many indian restaurants so i can be a little picky. Food is decent, not the best decent but solid, almost average decent. Food can taste a little bland (some people would love that!). But.... for the price, this is a great deal! It also has plenty of vegetarian options. their garlic naan is actually pretty good compared to some indian restaurant. Their (buffet) deserts are actually one of the better ones esp the rice pudding/kheer which is on the refreshing side.

This our favorite Indian place. It is consistently good, and the crispy butter naan is the best thing I’ve ever consumed. Well worth a visit!

We have had lunch at the Royal Indian several times. We are a group of guys who rotate lunch in the Auburn area. The food is tasty , beer is cold, ( from India and in large bottles) and the service is excellent. The menu is extensive, with different meats and different sauces, plus side dishes. Servings are large and you don't leave hungry! It's a nice setting and pretty quiet so conversation is easy. Parking is on the street or in a nearby community parking lot.

Naan is always fresh and tasty. It's our go to Indian buffet stop coming back from Tahoe. The service is quick and the place is clean. Our family loves coming here.

Love this place! Such great food! After they were closed for a month recently for a remodel, I was excited to see the upgrades... but perhaps they were in the back in the food prep area because everything looked exactly the same.

Not only the best Indian place in the area, this is the best Indian place I have ever found, perhaps the best restaraunt in Auburn. The owner is always there and makes sure everything is good. Vegatable Masala is a must if you don't eat meat or even if you do. The buffet was fine if your vegatarian, and even better if you aren't. The chicken Tandori looked so good I ate a chicken thigh and I don't even eat meat! Not sure why this place isn't busier.

Vada PavVada Pav is a favorite sandwich-style snack from Mumbai, named after its ingredients: vada, or spicy mashed potatoes, which are deep-fried in chickpea batter; and pav, or white bread rolls. This iconic street food is said to have originated from a street vendor named Ashok Vaidya, who worked near the Dadar train station in the sixties and seventies, and came up with a way to satiate the hungry workers.

This place served amazing food and the service was
The food was absolutely fabulous! We were going to order a fish ahead but decided we had plenty of left overs! The waitress didn’t add it to the bulk and they were very kind about deciding not to get it even though I think they had already packaged the order. Either way they were attentive, authentic and oh so tasty. I’d drive far out of my way just to get this! 100% recommend if you’re looking for the best deal for the most flavor ?
I absolutely frick'n love this place. I am an avid spice lover and too offen indian restaurants pass off excessive amounts of turmeric to replace a true Garam Masala. The spices are always true and authentic. Biryani, Masala, Vindaloo, Samosas, all perfectly and appropriately seasoned. Warning! Yes this is real indian food and may have flavors you may not be used to. Be open minded and enjoy!
We came here for the buffet dinner. I do not eat AYCE buffet style but decided to give it a try after such a raving review on Yelp. You do have an option to order your favorite food plate. For 17 dollars per person for dinner, I was pleased to try it. Everything was tasty and yummy. Indian cuisine here was fresh and traditional. The service was spectacularly pleasant. The dinning area is clean and spacious. We enjoyed the vegetarian dishes and garlic naans. This is a safe restaurant that's good. It definitely held up to the hype. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.
