If you are wanting local homemade ice cream come check out Dewar's at all of their locations. Another classic gem here in Bakersfield. The service is top tier whether if it's busy or not. I would recommend trying the George's special with cookies n cream.

We went to the downtown location, this is the original location I remember coming to as a child. They've updated the seating area to make it larger. The ice cream is still delicious and service is still great. They need to bring back the cherry nut flavor!!

Perfect place for dessert at this family run ice cream parlor in Bakersfield. There are 3 of them. We went to the original one on Eye Street. It's been around since 1909. I ordered the two scoop maple walnut with all the trimmings. It was huge. There is parking lot, and easy street parking. Today was a beautiful day, but we arrived early, and there was counter space and a small table available. Glad we found this gem.

Don't go to this location if you barely make it in 5 min till close. Was worst experience the crew and staff were rude and ran me around to let me know there not wanting to help. I could see being mad if I ordered 4 shakes or something but I asked for scoopof vanilla with hot fudge. I didn't even get a spoon ful of fudge . I'm sure owner would like all customers they can but not the crew on Feb1, 2024.

Dewars is like stepping back in time. As soon as you walk in you see the bar with bright pink stools reminiscent of a a scene from the movie grease. As you walk in you grab a number and wait for it to be called. Upon hearing it you place your order and it's rad that one person makes your groups entire order! The part I truly enjoyed was as they were working on other people's treats they would answer questions about what they were making so you could see before hand! The welcome was of staff even when the place was packed was awesome!!
So Yummy! Can't get enough of their marshmallow topping. Ruben provided wonderful and friendly service.

Great service delicious ice-cream but they need to work on employee sanitation. I found hair in my food and it looks like strawberry blonde. I have black hair just saying. They should wear hair nets or something if hair is going into peoples ice cream
