With the number of good reviews I was disappointed. The place itself is an older, quaint restaurant. It was on the loud side while we were there. We had the fried calamari, carribean beef in a sauce, and the vegetable dish. No complaints about the fried calamari or the carribean beef, although they advertise a pineapple sauce with the beef and I could not tell that it was a pineapple sauce. The vegetables were bad. It looked and tasted like they got a frozen bag of vegetables at a store, put them in some boiling water and served them. Very bland. For the price we paid, we will definitely not return.

Idk what the big hype is about this place... there is no children's menu. All dishes are served Ala carte. You need to purchase the sides. I asked for Medium well, I got well done. No ventilation. The floor where our table was at, the floor is uneven so I almost fell backwards. There was a live moving cockroach by the door on the way out. The women's bathroom door does not really lock well. Tried once. Never again.

Staff are super pleasant. But the food was massively mediocre. Fried calamari was specifically disappointing. All breading, no flavor.

My pork chops had almost no flavor and were cooked tough. .. the tri tip was cooked really nicely. But you get a little tiny cup of chimichurri sauce. It's smaller than a shot glass for a very large piece of tender Tri-tip. Hence, the 4 stars. It was my first time there. The place is adorable. Drink was authentic. Great mojito. Watched him hand crush the mint and suger. Humm good!

I am offended of this restaurant, according to the reviews/pictures it is supposedly Cuban food. I’ve been eating Cuban for my whole life and this is definitely not Cuban. I know what real Cuban food looks like and tastes like, this looks more like Salvadorian food! I do not recommend going here. P.S. My grandparents are full blooded Cubans and would be very disappointed.

Ok. So great food and service. Also, nice atmosphere. But the music was a radio station, "Big FM," complete with noisy ads. Oh hell no. Come on guys. That is so chaotic. Why not play Caribbean. Or bistro style such as Gipsy Kings or whatever. Perhaps stringed instrumentals? Very surprised about this. But again, great food and service.

Nice, low key restaurant with Caribbean flair. Tasty Cuban favorite of ropa vieja and empanadas is what we had and a red sangria. Ropa vieja very flavorful. Empanadas had delicious crust. Beef was a lil sweet which was a lil strange for my taste. Service was not good. They were nice but server mentioned rice and beans would go good with dish but never brought it after I agreed to have it. Later found there was a charge for rice and beans. Fine if I would’ve known. Never get service after food was brought. Seemed like they were ready to go home(arrived 1.5 hours before closing). Will give it one more try earlier in the day to see if service might be better.

I came here with my husband because friends recommended it.We loved the ambiance and were seated immediately. The menu had a few items we weren’t familiar with, and the waitress helped us out.We ordered cassava fries with mojo ketchup as a starter, which wasn’t seasoned very well on its own but paired nicely with the sauce.I ordered a mojito to go with lunch. It was flavorful but there was such an overabundance of mint that I felt like I had to sip carefully, or I’d end up with a mouth full of mint. For lunch, we ordered Mama’s Latin Fried Chicken with Mango Chile Sauce. It was a nice level of spice, that was both flavorful and just on the cusp of being too spicy for my tastes. Husband loved it!We also got the Venezuelan Arepas with Cheese. I loved it, my husband found it a little bland. It came with a green chile sauce that wasn’t really spicy, but was flavorful. On their own, the arepas were just okay. With the sauce, they were very tasty!Overall, we give Mama Rooma’s a 4/5. Great 80s classics playing on the radio, nice ambiance with abstract art by Dixie Miguez, an attentive but not overbearing staff, and good food.

The bar stool seat was dirty, wet, and stained. The bar itself was sticky. The tables have old plastic coverings, also very sticky. Quite a few flies. Very average food, everything is extremely over fried.

So sad it wasn't what I thought it was going to be ,the quality of the food was great very fresh but very over priced for what the taste is and the portions you get ,I don't have a problem with over paying for food if it taste amazing but for it to just be ok,yeah I won't be
