Took three tries to get the steak correct. Even then it was tough. Excluding the food, the service was good.

Excellent attentiveness from our waiter, Nicholas J.! He was also friendly and efficient! Sourdough rolls are the best in town. Joe's steak is a bit fatty, but tasty with the horseradish dip. The roasted half chicken was delicious!

The joes steak was raw and tough like strings and twigs. I received a refund! Crappiest birthday and Easter dinner ever! Green beans cold and undercooked . We came here from San Luis Obispo today because we wanted Tahoe Joe's since ours closed several years ago. The Joes steak is supposed to be slow cooked for hours just like the San Luis Obispo restaurant used to do. They did not do that. It tasted like cheap London broil. Never going back

Has gone down hill for a couple of years. Waited over 10 minutes to get a menu and order drinks while there were only a couple tables filled in the bar (actually grabbed our own menus). This seems to be consistent every time we go.there anymore. Not busy not speed for help or food. Ordered and the waitress brought the drinks out with her hair hanging over the tray on the other drinks. After the food came out - then the salad came out. A bit backwards and the. We asked where the rolls were and were told you have to ask or you do not get them now (would be nice to be asked if we want them since we had no idea). Use to go often from the time they opened, but now rarely go . Looks like everyone else feels the same way

I've been a customer of Tahoe Joe's since they opened. I can still remember the lines out the door and the great vibe the restaurant had- both in the dining and bar areas. Unfortunately, that vibe has gone missing over the past few years. The last time we visited, nobody came to our table for at least 15 minutes and after reviewing the menu (with significant price increases), we decided to dine elsewhere. I hadn't left a restaurant like that in a VERY long time. The food quality is not the same as it once was and the service (which was always superb in the past) is very hit-and-miss now. During last Summer, the temperature was high and we were told "Yeah, the AC isn't working and we don't know when it will get fixed". Not good- especially in Bakersfield during that time of year. Even the neon sign out front hasn't worked correctly in months. The restaurant can be saved- the food has to get back to where it was before and the service needs to get more consistent. Someone needs to take pride in this location (like they used to have), or sell it to someone that will. Again, you can go (even on a weekend) now and not have a problem getting a seat. That alone should indicate there are issues.

Fish, shrimp and fries were really greasy. I wouldn't order this again. Not good.

First time trying this place and it wasn't the best. My husband got the T-bone steak and he enjoyed it, a bit undercooked but it was tasty. I got the chicken sandwich and the chicken was dry better chicken sandwich at chick-fil-a. For the quality of food, this place is expensive for no reason. Won't be coming back!

We have been coming to Tahoe Joe's for years and it is always so yummy! They have a great happy hour offering however we don't always go there during the times. They have the best sourdough rolls which are even better when they are warm (they could do a better job of keeping them warmer so they taste more fresh but they are still delicious regardless). I normally order a wood-grilled chicken breast and I drizzle it with their amazing champagne vinaigrette dressing that is a must have. We also love their Joe's steak it is nice and tender and has a very small amount of fat but not too much at all. Overall we love it here and will continue to return!

Although our server was nice, there was clearly a lack of communication and/or staffing during our patio lunch on Sunday 3/3/24. First off, the coffee and baileys my mother ordered took over 20 minutes, arrived cold, and we had to remind our server we were still waiting for it. Despite her telling us earlier on that she didn’t know where the bartender was, she never bothered to make sure the coffee was made.My steak was well done when I had ordered medium, so I sent it back because it was so dry and chewy. They did remake the steak, but it was still overdone yet it was more tender than before and I didn’t want to deal with it anymore at this point. We pay our bill and leave, and see that we were charged for a dinner portion of a shrimp entree despite ordering it off the lunch menu, resulting in an extra $13. Overall I am extremely disappointed with our experience.
